Last week I had the opportunity to attend a local fabric show courtesy of one of my local fabric shops. And, I got to help with some fabric purchasing for several of the upcoming lines of fabric this fall. I had such fun–and this was a smaller show–I can only imagine a larger show–or even quilt market itself. The folks at the Moda booth were kind enough to give me that cute little bag up there & some Central Park–so pretty! And how cute is the fabric on this bag:
One of my favorite lines of fabric that I saw was from Moda’s Half Moon Modern line–it’s due to come out in November. The colors are just amazing & I had to come home and design a pattern just for this line–it’s just such a fun line of fabric.
Another line that I will be getting to play with is Urban Cowgirl from Urban Chiks for Moda. Again, just another great line–the fabrics are so rich in person–very eye-catching.
And one of my current fave lines of fabric is Secret Garden by Sandi Henderson. I was so excited to see this line in person. And let me tell you, Sandi nailed it with this line of fabric. Plus, the weight of these fabrics is just wonderful. For those of you who have worked with Art Gallery’s Pure Elements line of fabric or Free Spirit’s Flea Market Fancy or Katie Jump Rope, Secret Garden has a similiar feel—very lightweight and breezy.
I hope to own all of these–they are just wonderful–and I do have all of Sandi’s other lines of fabrics so it would only be fair to purchase all of this one as well, right?! =p
I was also lucky enough to meet Rebecca of Ruby Blue Quilting Studio–she’s another Moda Bake Shop gal & she’s the first MBS designer that I have gotten to meet. Let me tell you, she is such a sweetie & little did I know a fellow Ohioan. What fun! =)
So, if there are any fabric shops out there looking for a fabric buyer just let me know and I will be right on it, LOL! Such fun!
