What will the dimensions of the finished quilt be, please?

  4. Staci says:

Sorry, another question. What color did you use for your background? I was looking at the pics on flicker, and one appears to be white and the other a silver gray, but wasn't sure if that was correct, or if my monitor is not displaying the colors correctly.

  5. Rachel Hauser says:

Hey there! I'm trying to decide what fabric/if I should join in. So tempting! Can you say a few words about what the quilt will look like? Is this a baby quilt? Will the embroidery blocks be simple (like just the bird shown) or more elaborate/time consuming? Thanks!

  6. Stray Stitches says:

I am so looking forward to this BOM. I ordered a jelly roll today – Dream On by moda. Not sure what solid I'm going with yet. I was thinking about using a white on white or will that look funny, do you think?

OMG! I love this. I have a ‘thing’ for cute little birds! Do you have any beginner tutorials or suggestions for someone new to the world of embroidery? I think I can, I think I can! I have PLENTY of fabric, so no worries there! Just need tips on how to go about stitching up these cute little birds!!
    Thanks so much!

  33. Nicole says:

I love the birdie blocks and have been following along looking at the pictures each month……I found myself looking for the next block online on April first! I am hooked and also love sunkissed. So for me it is a match made in heaven! I am a late starter but wanted to pop over and say thanks for such a cute and colorful BOM!!!

  34. Joyce says:

I just found your website and love it. I can’t wait to try your Birdie Stitches BOM.

  35. Melinda says:

Coming into this late but had a question: You said you have a lot left over from a jelly roll. I have one of those half jelly rolls where there’s only 20 strips versus 40. Do you think that’s enough or should I pick up another one in those fabrics?

  36. Rhonda says:

Thanks you so much for this lovely set of Bird’s – I am sticking to a red and variety of blues with a hint of yellow and hope to have a lovely cot quilt for a new baby when completed.
    Rhonda Joy

  37. wendiq says:

It’s June and I am just getting started……Never say “never”….LOL! I am using Bella gray for background and a jelly roll from Moda call “Strawberry Fields”. I also have a HUGE stash of #8 Perle cotton so plan to use that instead of embroidery thread. It should be OK???? This will be my “travel project”, I always need something that I can take with me that doesn’t involve a machine.

  38. Melissa Fernandez says:

I found your dresden and loved it… I love the colors the spirit of joy that is behind it. Your sight is such a joy to me. I am in love with your birdy blocks.. Thank you very much for providing things like this for girls who love to sew.

    xoxo
    Melissa

  39. Paula N. says:

I am having trouble finding Moda’s Sunkissed line, unfortunately. I have found some other lines that I like, but am not sure how they’ll look with the floss. Or should I just wing it (LOL) and go for floss that coordinates with whatever jelly roll I end up getting? One local shop had Amelia and Hometown … ??

    • Corey says:

If you want some great inspiration take a look through the flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/birdiestitches/. Such a wonderful variety of fabrics being used and they all look fabulous! I think Hometown would be pretty cool since it still has all of the typography fabrics–kind of the same vibe as Sunkissed. =)

      • Paula N. says:

Thanks Corey! I actually did a little bit more looking around and found another line I just loved!! It’s the Fresh Flowers Jelly Roll by Deb Strain, also for Moda. I love the vibrant colors on this line! I thought I wanted something more subdued, more pastel, but when I saw this one I just had to spring for it. I ordered online but they say only 2-3 business days for shipping, so I’m hoping it will get here mid-week and I can get started before I go on vacation next weekend! I think this would be a terrific project to take with me to work on when I need a break from the family games or the jigsaw puzzle we usually have going.

  40. Marlene says:

oh my goodness!!! I don’t know HOW I found these cute little stitches but I’m so glad I did!! I can’t wait to get started on this! Thank you SO much for the cute patterns!!
