Blockheads Block 46

It’s a good block this week friends–and one of my favorite blocks in my quilt so far. =)

This is On Point Star brought to us by Stacy Iest Hsu.  You will find the free pattern on her site.

For my block, I used some of my favorite Moda Bella solids.  I used a dark grey background again this week but this grey is a bit darker than last week’s grey.  This one is called Etchings Charcoal and I use it often.  It’s in the same color family as Etchings slate, just a bit darker.

In the photo below, you can see Etchings Charcoal and Etchings Slate side by side for comparison.

And this happy bundle of solids is made up of my most favorite Bella Solids shades.  I shared them, along with their color numbers a couple weeks ago on Instagram as I love them so much!  They perfectly coordinate with all of my collections of fabrics.  PS…in addition to getting asked which greys I use as backgrounds, I get asked about the white…it’s 9900-200–a perfect warm white and my go to.

After I shared my favorite solids on IG, Fat Quarter Shop, contacted me to see if they could put together a Corey Yoder bundle of all my favorite Bella Solids.  So now, you can purchase your very own bundle of the fabrics shown above from FQS.

Here is a link to their shop–the bundles are currently sold out but you can ask to be notified when they are back in stock–I have heard they will be available in March.

I adore a good solids quilts block. =)  Or a good solids quilt–this is my Make It Modern Quilt.  It was first available in the, now out of print, Quilts Magazine but I have since released it as an individual pattern.  It’s available in my shop in either  PDF or Paper pattern.  Orders of 2+ paper patterns include free domestic shipping with code FREESHIP in my shop.

This is another favorite solids quilt of mine, Organic Elements, available as a free tutorial on Moda Bake Shop.

And I have long adored this quilt, Posey Patch, from my book Playful Petals.  It is such a striking solids quilt!  I used Art Gallery solids for this one–but wouldn’t it be pretty in my sherbet colorway?!

Solids are so much fun to work with!

And now on to the coloring page for today’s On Point Star block.

I’m so glad that so many of you let me know every week that you find the coloring pages helpful!  Happy Sewing!
