Canning Day Fabrics & Quilts

Canning Day Quilts

This is going to be a long, newsy post full of photos of my new Canning Day fabrics and the quilts that I have designed to go with the new fabrics.

Canning Day Fabrics

Canning Day will be shipping to quilt shops in February 2020.  If you’d like to see these fabrics in your local quilt shops, be sure to ask them to carry the line.  It’s so helpful to shops if they know what their customers would like to purchase!

Canning Day Aquas & Purples

Canning Day features a warm palette of Aquas, Purples, Corals, Yellows, Greens, and Grays.

Canning Day Yellows & Greens

With a name like Canning Day, I envisioned all of the colors from a day spent canning when I was growing up.  The pretty little jar toppers, the table clothes, aprons, and all of the brightly colored fruits and vegetables getting ready to put away for the winter.

The Grays and Corals in Canning Day mix beautifully with Sugarcreek. Canning Day on the left, Sugarcreek on the right.

Love these pretty whites.  The white on the left is a white on white version of the fabric in the center of the photo.

I’ve released 5 new patterns for Canning Day.  Up first is Dandelion Gravy.

Dandelion Gravy is a Jelly Roll friendly quilt that finishes at 70″ x 70″.

Kaylene Parry (@quilterlove66) on Instagram quilted Dandelion Gravy for me.  And, of course, this line has a great stripe to use for Bindings.

Cotton Frock is the next new quilt pattern.

Cotton Frock is a fat quarter friendly quilt that finishes at 82″ x 104″.

Cotton Frock Quilting & Binding

Cotton Frock was also quilted by Kaylene Parry.  I love the sashing and stars on this quilt.

Turnstile is the Honey Bun quilt for this line.  Moda is going to start releasing more honey buns in the lines in the future.   If you aren’t familiar with honey buns, they are just like jelly rolls but with 1 1/2″ strips.

Turnstile Quilt quilted by Kaylene Parry.

I knew right from the start that I wanted a Flowers in Jars sort of quilt.  Freshly Cut was the result.  It finishes at 68 1/2″ x 89″ and is layer cake friendly.

I love this quilt so much!  Kaylene also quilted this quilt for me and I adore that quilting design.  It was a quilting pattern that I’ve wanted to use for so long but never had just the right quilt to use it on.

Freshly Cut quilting

It is absolutely perfect for this quilt.  Kaylene is offering this quilting design for .01/sq. in. for the month of October.  So if you have a quilt you’d like this design used on you can contact her on Instagram (@quilterlove66)

Freshly Cut Quilt

Freshly Cut is also the Moda kit quilt for this line.  It will be available as a kit in one of those adorable boxes.  This is another great item to ask your local shop to carry if you know that you’d like one.  If your local shop will not be carrying it, you will be able to find them here.

Candy Striped is the last of my Canning Day quilt patterns.  The prints I used in this quilt are some of my favorites from the Canning Day line.

Canning Day Prints

I knew that I wanted to design an easy quilt that showed off this print.  Candy Striped is quick to piece and finishes at 74″ x 88″.  It is perfect for showing off favorite prints.

David quilted this one for me.

Canning Day Quilts

And that sums up the new quilts.  All of the new patterns are available in my shop.  Canning Day fabrics ship in February.

Thank you so much!–I really like how nicely Candy Striped shows off larger scale fabrics. I think we all buy them and then aren’t sure what to do with them–those large prints don’t works as well in smaller pieced projects.

Thank you so much! Candied Cottons is in the book Mix it Up–it’s one of the Moda All Stars books. I haven’t received my shipment of books yet, but once I do it will be in my shop.
