Introducing Canning Day

Introducing Canning Day!

I am very excited to introduce you to Canning Day. =)  Canning Day is showing to quilt shops right now and will be shipping in February.  Just when we all need a little bit of sunshine in our winter.  Canning Day brings back that beautiful orchid/purple color that we all loved in Sunnyside Up.

Sunnyside Up Fabrics

When I was designing Canning Day, the inspiration for the fabrics came from all of the happy colors and sights from canning days when I was growing up.  Here’s what I had to say about the line:

“There is nothing as sweetly remembered as Grandma’s kitchen.  Whether it was sweet tea, cookies, and sour cream and onion chips on a Sunday night or a freshly opened jar of vegetable soup and homemade bread on a weekday; those memories, along with the companionship shared, stick with you.  Canning Day meant a time of fellowship shared over snapping green beans, shelling peas, de-silking corn, peeling peaches, slicing pears or preparing any other number of fruits and vegetables for the pressure cooker.  Often times this happened in a steamy kitchen, amid the sights of brightly colored aprons, pretty fabric jar covers, charming table cloths, and so much laughter.  This collection evokes the nostalgia of those days; full of sweet flowers, colors, and happiness.”

And I am so happy with the way this collection came together.  It has such a wonderful mix of happy colors, and a vintage-y feel.  I especially love that it is brimming with flowers.  One of my favorite prints in the collection is this one, called Fresh Picked:

I love this print so much that one of my new quilt patterns uses just that print.  I will be sharing more about this collection in the upcoming weeks.  Its always nice to know what’s coming a little bit further down the road.  If you’d like your local shop to carry Canning Day, be sure to ask them to–they can order the collection right now.

But don’t forget, Sugarcreek comes out this month!  I know you’ve been anxiously awaiting this line to hit your quilt shops. PS..Fat Quarter Shop is showing Jolly Bars of Sugarcreek in stock.   Jolly bars are exclusive to FQS and measure 5″ x 10″.

Beholden Blocks

That tone on tone background print is so good!–its from the Sugarcreek line.

The pattern for Beholden and Beholden 2 (the blocks pictured above) can be found in my Etsy shop.

I can never get enough of the grays (especially the Sugarcreek wovens and prints mixed together)!

And because we are in a new month, I have a new $5 pattern.  This month, the pattern of the month is Maple Charm.  No code needed, it’s $5 for either the PDF or Paper version of the pattern.  Shop here.

And thank you all so much for all of the love on the Sunday Best Sampler sew along.  I’m so excited to sew along with all of you. =)  If you missed the announcement, check it out here.
