I’ve been debating for oh, almost a year now, about what kind of quilt I would like to make with my fat quarter stack of Sandi Henderson’s Farmer’s Market line. I love this line of fabric and I just couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. Well, last week my 8 month old was playing with the one of the paisleys from the line(trying to start her out young) and I couldn’t help thinking how much the paisley looked like a bird, and so, my birdie block was born:
I told you I’d be back in a flash–did you even have time to blink? =)
As promised pics of my blocks for the Quilt Along–I’m not sure how many blocks total there are(I’ll get right on that after I feed the kidders, get at least one of them down for a nap, tidy up a bit, let the dog out, weed the flower beds, say hello to hubby, get supper cooking, tidy up again, clear the dishes, tidy up the kitchen, try to get both kidders down for bed, get in bed myself…oh wait, when did I get that counting in?–maybe tomm. after I….). =)
I am really enjoying sewing along with all of these great ladies–there are currently 575 members in the Flickr group–I am sure that some of them are just along for the ride but, I bet a large portion of members are actually participating in the Quilt Along. There were just under 300 members when I joined so, the number has almost doubled in about 2 weeks time–just amazing!
Oh and be sure to check out Stick up hair down below–love that kid!
So, I have decided to enter this crazy world of blogging. I have been so inspired recently by some of the amazing blogs that I have come across and have decided to join the ranks–however, I make no promises about the inspirational qualities of this particular blog. =)
I’ve recently joined a fun online quilt along over at the Old Red Barn Co. (http://www.oldredbarnco.blogspot.com/). You really need to check it out yet if you haven’t already–right now, we are on week three. Week one was picking out your fabric, Week two was cutting strips & now week three is sewing strips and cutting blocks. And Dana is giving away some stellar prizes with the grand prize being a new sewing machine, all for just following along and making a quilt–can I hear a woot woot!
These are my fabric choices for the quilt along–from Heather Bailey’s Pop Garden line–alright, come on and admit it, who else has an ongoing countdown for her new line coming out this fall–don’t be ashamed to raise your hand–heck, I’m so excited I am raising both hands. =)
Be back later!
