Cali & Co. 2025 Mystery BOM!

Say what??…a Tuesday blog post and video? Indeed! We are sharing the official Cali & Co. 2025 Mystery Block-of-the-Month announcement. =)

Beginning January 2025, I will be hosting a 12 month, mystery BOM featuring Cali & Co. fabrics. The patterns will all be free and I will be sharing monthly video tutorials to go along with the block patterns and finishing instructions. Cali & Co. fabrics are set to ship to quilt shops in November so a January kick-off will be just perfect. It will be so much fun to dive into these pretty fabrics and sew along with all of you. I will share the exact January start day later this year.

I’ve just finished up all of my test blocks for this sew along and I must say, I am smitten. This is going to be so much fun!…I love the way the blocks turned out and I think the final setting for the blocks is a pretty one. It’s such a happy fun quilt! Want to join in on the mystery BOM?

Here are the fabric requirements

Cali & Co. fabrics are currently showing to quilt shops. Some quilt shops are taking preorders.  If you have a local shop that you would like to purchase Cali & Co. from, be sure to let them know now so they can get it ordered in time. (And quilt shops, if you are accepting preorders for Cali & Co., let us know in the comments!)

Nicole & I filmed a video talking about the sew along including some helpful information. You can catch the video here.

I always have so much fun hosting these mystery BOMs and I would love to have you join in!

Happy Tuesday! Corey

Looking forward to the BOM. Enjoyed the last one immensely. Thanks for all you do to keep us motivated to continue our passion.

  2. Deb says:

I have precuts (made from scraps from quilts made, etc) and a stash that fills every wall of my quilt room. Would I still be welcome in this BOM and going totally scrappy? I’ve been quilting 50 years, so it’s a lot of scraps! Thanks

  8. Donna Dodd says:

I just downloaded the materials supply list. Can’t wait! Could this BOM surprise also be done in your new colors collection that has some black and white? I’ve been wanting to use it in something. Love you Corey!

    • Corey says:

It’s going to be so much fun! The mystery BOM could be made using quite a variety of different fabrics. I made my test blocks in Tilda fabrics and they turned out so pretty.

  9. Michelle says:

If I want to do borders without piecing, how much of the outer border fabric should I get?

    • Corey says:

Do you mean that you want to cut the borders by the length of the fabric to avoid some of the seams in that outside border?

  10. Melissa Ragland says:

I love your mystery BOM’s. I really appreciate the fact that you posted the fabric requirements now. That is so helpful when planning what upcoming projects I am doing with which fabric. I have participated in your previous mysteries and I typically do 2 in tandem, one with your new product line and one with my stash.

    • Corey says:

It’s always so much fun to see all of the different versions that get made during these BOMs. I did my test blocks using Tilda fabrics and I really like how they turned out. I can’t wait to sew up another version using Cali & Co. =)

  11. Connie Wooddell says:

Quilted Twins, fabric store in Dade City, FL, is all in. We have put up the fabric package at the website: https://www.quiltedtwins.com/shop/c/p/Cali-Co-Mystery-Block-of-the-Month-2025-Fabric-Package—Fabric-for-Top-Backing-and-Binding—Corey-Yoder-x82796225.htm

  14. Mary says:

Always love your fabric lines and mystery sew alongs. So very generous of you to provide the pattern. Can’t wait to see and hold the fabric. It’s probably even cuter than the online pictures. Without giving away anything would the pattern lend itself to making more blocks to enlarge the size? Might get the fat quarter bundle.

  15. Beryl Stoots says:

Corey, what size is this going to finish at? I’m looking forward to participating!

  16. Theresa Gerrard says:

I’m looking forward to this one as it will be my first BOM with you. I’ve just ordered the bundle. Being in Australia I’m not sure I’ll be able to get the yardage. Do you have a suggested alternate Bella solid for the background please Corey?

    • Corey says:

I’m glad to have you joining in Theresa! You may have already watched the video and gotten your answer to this but the Bella solid that matches is 9900-200 (it’s the same white solid that matches any of my fabric lines).

Hi Corey! I can’t wait for the sew-a-long! I have a bundle of your SUNWASHED fabric line that I have been waiting to use and was wondering if it would work on this BOM or do I need smaller print fabrics? Thanks for all your inspiration!

  32. Corey, Corey, Corey.. Rachael here with Quilted Twins in Florida piping up.. We just got in the beautiful fabrics for your amazing BOM Mystery project! I hope more people want these fabrics, as we have ordered in plenty for those who will be joining! Just telling you that they are coming to the stores now and it’s on NOVEMBER!

  33. Kathy says:

While I love this line, I have soooo much Peachy Keen. I think I will use that for this Mystery BOM.

  34. Cheryl Graham says:

Corey, I am so excited…my Fat Eighth bundle is on its way to me and I’m getting ready to order the rest of the Mystery project fabrics as soon as they hit the shelves. I have one question for you: If we wanted to switch out the red border fabric for one of the other colors, possibly a yellow or a green, will that still look good with the mystery blocks? Or should we stay with a red?

    • Corey says:

I think it would look pretty in whatever border fabric you’d like to use. It is going up against a narrow background border so you don’t have to worry about it being right up against the blocks.

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
