I use an embroidery needle–I have size 5 and size 8 on hand both work great!

I think it will be beautiful. I also would like more detail on the “how” you hand quilt with perle cotton. I am getting ready to start on a lap quilt now and would love any advice on type of needle,etc. Your Birdie Stitches have been so much fun that I have been doing more with floss and perle cotton. Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂
It’s pretty much traditional hand quilting only I use a longer stitch. I like to use an embroidery needle for hand quilting & if I need to use a thimble(I find for small projects it’s not always necessary) I have a leather one that works pretty well for me–I could never get into using the metal ones! It’s such an easy fun way to add a pop of fun color to a quilt!
I could look at that stack of fabric every day! I just did some hand stitching with perle cotton and loved it.
