Moda Blockheads, Block #10

This week has us making another 12″ block brought to us by Jo Morton.  You will find the block available to download here.

For my block, I used a combo of Sunnyside Up & Flower Mill fabrics.

I get asked quite a lot which of my collections mix well.  And the answer is, they all mix well together!  Here’s a photo of all of my 12″ Blockheads blocks together.  They include fabrics from my first 6 lines of fabric for Moda.

I like to design lines that aren’t super matchy but ones that will still play nicely together.  My palettes are always warm and happy and as such you can mix and match well from line to line.

I remember when I was working on the quilt below (Scattered Blossoms from my book Playful Petals).  It is such a perfect representation of the colors that I enjoy working with….happy, warm colors.  These were all fabrics I had in my stash and from a huge range of designers and fabric companies.

I think that you will find that the fabrics I design have this same feel & as such they will always play nice together with a wonderful scrappy feeling.

Even a line like Pepper & Flax with it’s more limited color palette still features the same warm shades of my previous lines.  As such, it will mix nicely.

If you have been utilizing the coloring pages for Blockheads, you will find it below.
