Wondering Wednesday
Happy Wednesday to you all. =) Today I am kicking off a brand new series here on my blog called, Wondering Wednesday.
During this series, I hope to answer questions you guys might have…now not just any questions, =) but ones that relate to my fabrics or patterns. For example, do you wonder what the Poppyseed quilt above might look like using the Sugarcreek prints rather than the Sugarcreek wovens?
Well, here you go:
It would be beautiful!–and now I really need to make one. =)
Have you wondered how the blues in Sugarcreek compare to the blues from my previous collection?
It’s doesn’t have as much green in it as previous lines. From left to right: Lulu Lane, Strawberry Jam, Sugarcreek.
Or have you missed out on Pepper & Flax and are wondering what grays and yellows might work well together from other lines?
Grays and Yellows from top to Bottom: Sugarcreek Wovens, Sugarcreek Prints, Sugarcreek Prints, Strawberry Jam, Sugarcreek Prints
Did you miss out on coordinating solids somewhere down the line? Do you wonder how Canning Day will mix with Sunnyside Up?
Any of these sorts of questions, I will be happy to answer. If you throw in other questions too, you never know what I might answer…that’s why it’s Wondering Wednesdays. I’m not sure how many of these questions you guys might have so I don’t know if it will be a weekly post, monthly, or every now and then. It’s really up to how many questions I get.
So, if you have any questions, leave them in the comments below. =)
I love the idea of Wondering Wednesday!! I have a fat eighth bundle of Pepper and Flax and am saving it for something special, but just can’t seem to commit to anything. What quilt would you make with it??
I have a question…who comes up with the little sayings on the selvages of the fabric…the designer or someone at Moda? Thanks and have a great Wednesday!
I bought a layer cake of your sugarcreek wovens. I have not worked with woven fabrics before. Should my background fabric be a woven fabric as well? Do you have any tips to share when using woven fabrics in a quilt? Thank you!
Ditto what Brenda asked! I’ve never worked with women’s either.
I haven’t used ovens either, can you use them in a quilt with other cotton fabrics?
Just wondering if you starch your fabric. Some people completely soak the fabric and then let it air dry….prior to making any cuts. I have not jumped on the starching bandwagon, but I am wondering if I should. I absolutely love the Wondering Wednesday idea.
I love this, I just discovered it today! I think the grays and yellows would look amazing!
Love Wondering Wednesdays! I think it would be useful to have coordinating solids for all collections. I think this is something that is needed for all designers and all collections. Possibly be provided on the manufacturer web site where the designer and collection is showcased. I have seen a few that do this already, but not many. Thank you for your post!
Looking forward to this series and reading all the questions/answers!
You nailed it with the question on Sunnyside Up and Canning Day mixing together! I’ve got a fat eighth bundle of Sunnyside and am hoping that Canning Day will complement it for a bed sized quilt. Thoughts?
I would love to hear about the coordinating solids. Were you planning on including any 108″ wide fabrics with Canning Day?
I’ve wanted so many of these same questions answered. Especially mixing the wovens and solids (regular prints) together in a quilt. Thank you for this opportunity.
As far as I know you never had navy prints in your collections. Will we see some navy in one of your coming collections or is navy for you what yellow is for me (most hated color?)
I don’t have a question, but just wanted to say that Pepper and Flax is my all time favourite line EVER!! Just magnificent! And love the idea of wondering Wednesdays, can’t wait to see what sort of questions and answers we get 🙂
I seriously love all your fabric collections and patterns, when it comes to patterns, where do you draw inspiration from?
These pictures of the various fabric lines set up of comparison are so helpful. Your pictures are such high quality. I was wondering if your daughters have become interested in sewing or quilting.
