Abloom Quilts Trunk Show

Last week, I shared all about my brand new line of fabric Abloom. Today, it’s time to chat about all of the new quilts I have designed for this fabric line.

To see all of these quilts in more detail, watch today’s YouTube video.

I’ve designed a total of 7 new quilts for this collection…a charm pack quilt, a layer cake quilt, a fat eighth quilt, a jelly roll quilt, a mini quilt, a new barn star quilt, and a yardage based quilt. That’s a lot of quilts. I had so much fun sewing up all of these quilts. The Abloom fabric has been such fun to work with. Abloom is showing to quilt shops right now and will be in shops in April. All of the new quilt patterns can be purchased now.

First up, let’s talk about Jelly Dash.

As the name implies, Jelly Dash is a jelly roll friendly quilt. It will finish at 78″ x 93″. It’s a fun mix of scrappy churn dash blocks.

David of Quilting by David quilted all of these new Abloom quilts for me. Be sure to watch the YouTube video if you need any more information about the quilting designs.

Up Next is Chickadee. Chickadee is the fat eight quilt of this bunch.

It features a bird block interspersed with rectangle blocks and is bordered with pretty patchwork squares. Chickadee will finish at 68″ x 84″.

I’ve also designed a flower quilt for this collection, Sweetest.

Surprisingly, Sweetest is a charm pack quilt. I enjoy designing charm pack quilts that pack a lot of punch out of a charm pack. This quilt will finish at 68″ x 87″

The yellow dot fabric is from Coriander Colors. It adds such a pretty, warm pop of color to this quilt.

If you’ve watched my videos over the last few months, this next quilt might be familiar. I shared about it in a video where I was sending off some older quilt tops to be quilted. In the video, I asked if you might be interested in seeing a pattern for this quilt…and many of you said you’d like that. So here is the In Stitches mini quilt:

In Stitches mini quilt is also a charm pack friendly quilt and finishes at a dainty 29″ square.

We also have a new Barn Star quilt for this release of patterns. This is Barn Star 9:

As with all previous 8 Barn Star patterns, Barn Star 9 finishes at 40″ square. It’s a yardage based quilt (you are purchasing yardage as opposed to a precut).

The last two quilts feature the Abloom panel. This is such a nice way to add a special touch to a quilt in a simple way. The picture of the panel blocks below was an in progress shot as I was working.

Handiwork is a layer cake quilt (it requires 2 layer cakes). It’s a simple quilt to piece. With the addition of the panel squares, it becomes quite a special quilt.

Handiwork finishes at 68″ x 85″. I loved using the dark green large floral for the backing!

The last new quilt, the other one I designed that features the panel, is Yesteryear.

Yesteryear finishes at 59″ x 70 1/2″ and she shines in pretty aquas.

The mini orange peel quilting on this one is so good. I love the fresh but timeless vibe this quilt has.

That is the last of the new quilts. I’ve linked to the individual quilt patterns as I mentioned them. They are available in both Paper and Digital formats. I also have a bundle of all 7 patterns if you’d like to purchase all of them for a little bit of a discount. You’ll find the bundle here. As I said earlier, be sure to watch today’s video for more detail about all of the quilts. If you have any questions, be sure to let me know!

Happy Saturday, Corey

    Hi Corey,
Back in 2010(?) you designed tiny quilt blocks for cross stitching. Is there a way to get a copy of the chart? I would love to stitch it!!
    Thanks 🙏

Hi Corey. Absolutely love the Yesteryear pattern!! You are a very talented artist/designer. I think with the Aqua’s and Coral’s this is a quilt for my daughter. I just wanted to share some of my sources that I have found for finishing my quilts. I finish them on my home machine – I just purchased a Janome M8, so it has a larger throat than my old machine, so a little less wrestling. Donna Jordan of Jordan Fabrics has a very informative video on hand tying your quilt. Alot of my free motion learning came from taking classes at my local quilt shop, but Angela Walters has a lot of very understandable FMQ videos on her website. If you are a member of Craftsy you can also find many classes taught by different people on finishing quilts, binding, quilt at you go, just about anything you may want. Looking forward to spring – not only because it one of my favorite seasons, but Abloom will be available. Thank so much.

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
