Block Heads Block 25 and Giveaway

Corner Garden Block

Good Morning to week 25 of Moda Block Heads round 3.  Today I have a really fun block for all of you as well as a giveaway.  So make sure you read to the end. =)

Our block today is Corner Garden by Robin Pickens.  I really like this block and I think you will have fun making it and choosing the fabrics for it.  You’ll find the block pattern on Robin’s blog here.

Corner Garden Block

I always love a flower block. =)  For my Corner Garden block, I used fabrics from Canning Day and Apricot & Ash.  And you know that I love flowers if you’ve seen any of my flower quilts!

And of course a mini Tulip Market quilt was a must.

And my Gingham Garden quilt:

My most recent flower quilt is Freshly Cut:

And, I just added Paper patterns for the mini Freshly Cut pattern to my shop yesterday.  These blocks are half the size of the original quilt–so cute!:

There is just something so pretty about a flower quilt.

I also designed a fun row for the Moda All Stars Book, “All in a Row Again”, that showcased flowers:

Which leads me to my giveaway for this week.  There have been quite a few Moda All Stars books released over the last several years.  The sales of each of these books is donated to a charity. This makes them especially fun to contribute a project to, knowing that the proceeds will be benefiting a good cause.

Today, each of the Moda Block Heads designers has an ebook to give away for one of the Moda All Stars books that we contributed to.  The ebook I am giving away is for All in a Row book (Purchases of this book benefit No Kid Hungry):

There have been two different All in a Row books released.  Each one features rows that can be mixed and matched to create a truly one of a kind quilt.

My row for this book was a sweet little birdie/tree row:

Favorite thing to do in the summer, besides having morning coffee on the deck, would be planting my flowers and seeing them grow. My Mom gave me my love of flowers, and they bring her close (passed in 2007).

I love digging in my dirt and getting out all those nasty roots that have no business being there! Like wild clover and grass roots! I do that in the spring so my flowers actually have a chance to grow! My mother-in-law really got me interested in zinnias so I have several beds of beautiful beds of them. She passed away last summer and every-time I am in the flowers l think fondly of my second mom!
