Blockheads Block #4
Welcome to Blockheads Week #4!
I love the way this block turned out. It’s designed by Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic and you’ll find the free pattern over on her blog.
Incidentally, Brigitte designed my favorite holiday line of this year, White Christmas. I have a fat quarter bundle on the way and I can’t wait to use it. I find myself drawn to lines that are less traditional–red & green feels like it can’t stay out much past Christmas. A holiday line in other colors can last all the way to spring in my book.
Anyhoo, on to Block #4:
For my block, I used a combo of Sunnyside Up fabrics (everything but the gingham stripe which is from Flower Mill).
I really like Granny Square block and this block has that same feel…traditional with a little spunk. One tip for piecing this little beauty….leave the dog ears on until the block is completely finished. They are invaluable for lining up all of those outside triangles!
You will want to check out the rest of the designer blogs for this block. If you ever have trouble with fabric placement or choices these blogs provide so much good information. And, make sure you have joined the Facebook group!

block-4 is not on the site you sent us to.
It is!—the download is at the bottom of the first post that’s up right now.
I LOVE Wednesdays! To see what block I will be making. And the planning….what color fabric to put where! Im hooked. I ordered those ‘owl eyes’ scissors. Could not pass em up. Tho I ordered red. So I can find em easily. And…my Innova is being delivered today! I am one happy girl!
Your block is my favorite! I love it! I love your fabric too and have several of your lines!
Love your block!! Thanks for the great tip!!
