Blockheads Block #42
This post is going to be full of wintery quilt blocks. I think I must be in a wintery sewing frame of mind because my color choices are all full of winter shades. Read to the end for a shop pattern sale.
First up is this week’s Moda Blockheads block, Around the Corner by Carrie Nelson. Visit the Moda blog for the block pattern. It’s a 12″ block this week and I’ve filled it up with the cool blues and greys we see so often here in Ohio in the Winter—and just a sprinkling of the sunshine that sometimes makes it’s way through. Thank goodness for those spring flowers that will show up before too long.
Fabrics are from Sunnyside Up, Prairie, Strawberry Jam, and Flower Mill. Can you believe that we only have 10 more blocks to go and then Round 2 of Blockheads is a wrap?…craziness.
I also wanted to share the first three blocks of my Sew Colorful Spools quilt:
Our color for January is cream. This goes perfectly with my wintery theme today. Low volume whites against that mochi polka dot linen.

I started off with the bundle of creams that Sew Colorful Club Members received in January. Then, I added just a couple more fabrics from my stash. Each month is a different color and I’ll be making three blocks each month in the monthly color.
You can join the quilt along even if you aren’t part of the Sew Colorful Club. Just use fabrics from your stash to make your blocks.

Sorry to bother you again. I tried to use the code at FQS, it won’t take they then referred me back to your Esty store to purchase the pattern. I did tell them that I had “spoken” to you but she stated that it did work in your Esty store. HELP!
The coupon code only works in my Etsy shop for the patterns in my shop. The Sew Colorful Spools pattern you are interested in is only available from Fat Quarter Shop–I designed it to only be sold in their store. It would be a full price pattern unless Fat Quarter Shop has a sale running. We are two different stores. I hope that clears things up for you!
