Blockheads Week 5
Happy 4th of July (for all of you Americans). And Happy Blockheads day to all of us!
We have been enjoying quite the heat wave here in Ohio as I’ve heard many others of you are as well. In my opinion, that means it’s a great time to stay inside and sew.
Today, we have our first big block. This one, designed by Vanessa Goertzen, of Lella Boutique comes in at 24″. Visit her blog for the link to the free block pattern.
For my block, I used one of the blocks from my Sunny Panel for the center, some of my favorite Bella solids (Strawberry, Coral, Goldenrod, Green), and the white tonal Medallion print from Pepper & Flax.
I used solids mixed in with the prints for my Blockheads 1 quilt and I liked it so much I decided to add splashes of solids in to this quilt as well.
Don’t you just love this mix of large and small blocks we are doing in this second round? It keeps things interesting….as they say, “Variety is the spice of life!”.

Wow! What a block. I started the day with this cheerful combination of colors. Your block is awesome.
I really love that middle block! So pretty.
