Coriander Seeds Quilts
Happy Saturday Friends! My summer has been zipping by so quickly…I feel like I get something checked off my to-do list but then a whole bunch more things need to be added!
I did get a Coriander Seeds quilts trunk show filmed for my YouTube channel which is so nice to finally be able to share. It’s great to be able to talk in detail about each quilt, share the quilting designs, show the backing/binding etc.
You can catch the video here.
I’m chatting about them here on the blog as well so keep reading for some Coriander Seeds quilts info. =) I’ve been getting asked a lot about which specific fabrics I used from Coriander Seeds as well as which coordinates I’ve used from Thatched for my new quilts. I’m sharing that information with you as well as quilting design info. (That info is also included in the description box under the video over on YouTube.)
Up first is Wooly Stars. This quilt has definitely been the star of this new batch of patterns! And it has been so much fun seeing all of your sheep popping up everywhere. =)
Wooly Stars uses a fat quarter of 9 of the new Coriander Seeds white/white prints. The print I didn’t use was Happy Words.
Wooly Stars quilt pattern can be purchased here.
Wooly Stars was quilted by Kaylene Parry (@quilterlove66 on Instagram) using the Mums quilting design by Sarah Ann Myers.
The Ditsy print (29148-11) was used for the sashing and backing of Wooly Stars. The tan fabric is from Thatched by Robin Pickens 48626-158 (Washed Linen). The black fabric is from Thatched by Robin Pickens 48626-117 (Shadow).
If you haven’t used Thatched fabrics yet, they are a great basic. Robin uses a lot of warmer colors and they work really well mixed with the warm colors I like using in my fabric lines.
Sun Twist is the next new pattern. This is also the July $5 pattern of the month.
Sun Twist quilt pattern can be purchased here.
Kaylene Parry also quilted this quilt. The quilting design used was Venetian by Anne Bright Designs.
The Medallion print (29147-11) was used for the backing of Sun Twist.
The Moda Bella Solids I used are as follows:
Pinks: 9900-299, 9900-89
Oranges: 9900-147, 9900-78
Yellows: 9900-81, 9900-148
Greens: 9900-134, 9900-100
Aquas: 9900-269, 9900-378
Purples: 9900-303, 9900-66
Gray: 9900-170 (small cornerstones)
Sweetly Shining is not a new pattern release but I did re-make it using the same Moda Bella solids as listed above and used one of the new Coriander Seeds fabrics as the background. This quilt pattern works so well for these fabrics.
Sweetly Shining Quilt pattern can be purchased here.
Kaylene Parry used the Feathered Party quilting design by Anne Bright Designs for this quilt.
The Vines print (29140-11) was used for the background and backing of Sweetly Shining.
Heart Threads is the last of the new patterns for Coriander Seeds.
Heart Threads quilt pattern can be purchased here.
Kaylene quilted Heart Threads using Love Always by Karlee Porter.
The background/backing/binding fabric used is from Thatched by Robin Pickens 48626-165 (Dark Pewter).
The same Moda Bella solids were used as above except no gray solid was used.
In the photos I’ve shared above, I hadn’t yet added the bindings…but, in the video the bindings have all been added if you’d like to see what I chose. =)
Size information for any of the quilt patterns can be found in the Etsy listings I’ve linked to as well as fabric requirements for each quilt. Coriander Seeds fabrics are available to purchase in quilt shops locally and online that carry Moda Fabrics.
Thanks so much for stopping by!…I’ll see you next week. Have a wonderful weekend, Corey
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your YouTube videos. Love your fabrics and patterns. I live in Australia and come from Canberra. I have been quilting for about 10 years.
Thank you for all your inspiration. I never miss a video.

Thank you so much for watching along Beverley–I really appreciate that. It is so much fun to chat about quilts and fabrics. And to get to talk to people from around the world is wonderful!
Your patter Wooly Stars just pulled my heart strings. I made one block as a test pattern and will use it for a pillow. I had a really good laugh as I couldn’t figure out why her ear on the left wasn’t matching the one on the left. I sewed it in upside down. And that is why is sew test blocks! LOL I LOVE the pattern!
I made the patchy stars quilt….one of my very favorites…I will be starting the wooly sheep very soon…I love everything about your style..thank you 💕
I love the Wooly Stars Pattern and made it for a Veterinarian friend. Could you please share where you purchased the pictures on the wall where the Wooly Stars Quilt is pictured? Thank you for your inspiration!
