do. Good Stitches Bee
In August I joined the do. Good Stitches Bee. It is a charity bee that makes quilts for children in need. There are currently 3 circles within the bee–the Hope circle(which I am in), the Faith circle, and the Love Circle. Each circle completes one quilt per month & is involved with a different charity organization.
September was the first month for the Hope circle. The quilter in charge, Krista, asked that we make wonky square in square blocks using the colors green and blue for a little boy. In this bee we each make two blocks using fabric from our stashes. You can see all of the blocks above and these were the two blocks that I made:
I was a little bit concerned that they weren’t “boyish” enough but after seeing them in the quilt I think they work great with the other blocks.
For October we will be making blocks using my Stashbuster tutorial–I always love the way those blocks turn out but of course I am biased! =)
Love your blocks! I'm in a blue and green mood these days.
These are adorable, Corey! Perfect for a boy. What a wonderful bee to belong to. Wow! I am inspired.
That's such a lovely idea and the quilt looks great.
🙂
I love your blocks. You've inspired me, I'm on the wait list to join this group. I definitely want to do some good with my hobby!
Great block, and what a wonderful idea for a bee. There should be more of these out there.
Love your blocks! They look perfect in the quilt.
Ya did good! They look great – I love green and blue!
