June 2024 Pattern of the Month

Grab your coffee or tea, and let’s chat quilts!

It’s time for another Saturday video…you can watch it here:

In today’s video I am answering a viewer question plus chatting about Purry Stars, which is the $5 pattern of the month for June.

You can purchase Purry Stars in my Etsy shop in either Paper or PDF versions. The fabric requirements are shown in the last photo of the listing.

Coriander Colors fabrics will be in quilt shops in a few weeks and I can’t wait to see what you make with these fun fabrics. Not only are they great on their own but they are so pretty mixed in with all of my previous collections. Those black & whites are such a dream with Starberry fabrics! And wait until you see Coriander Colors mixed with Cali & Co.!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend! Corey

What a cute quilt! I am allergic to cats, so maybe this is the way I could have a cat – a cat quilt, ha! I just love the Coriander Colors collection, I’m a big fan of polka dots.

Ha!…I guess that’s one way to do it. I always feel the same way about flowers in quilts (not that I am allergic–although some might be!) because I don’t have a green thumb. In quilts I get to enjoy them much longer than I can if I try to keep them alive!

Ooh, how adorable! We currently have FIVE cats, so I guess I am officially a crazy cat lady? Our first cat, Apollo, passed away in January 2023, and we still miss the grumpy old guy. We had him for over 18 years and he was the pet our kids grew up with. Our current oldest cat is Chiquita (used to be Little Bit but she’s chunky so that didn’t fit LOL), and she is about 8-1/2. She turned up in our back yard begging for food one winter and I’m a sap. Then we have Hermes, who is about 6. He was MY birthday present in 2018 but he’s an equal opportunity cat and loves everyone. The other three are ferals that have been living in our yard. The oldest is Nerys (think Star Trek: Deep Space Nine for her name), and her two younger siblings are Oliver and Brownie. Our son trapped them and paid to have them fixed so there wouldn’t be additions to the cat population in our neighborhood. The mother and father cat were also trapped and fixed. Those two are Studly Buster (or Studders) and Nana (Nah-NAH), and we guess they don’t hate us too much because they still like the shelter and begging for food if we haven’t put any out for them.

Anyway, OBVIOUSLY I am buying this pattern! I’m already thinking of a table runner for a friend who has an orange-and-white cat named Milo. She’d love it! Thanks so much!!

I’m so excited to work on Purry Stars! As I was looking over fabric requirements it seemed to me that if I had a fat quarter bundle I could make each cat a different color. Am I correct?

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
