Pillow Fight!

Good Morning and welcome to a Pillow Fight!  Have you been following along with the Pillow Fight happening on the Jolly Jabber?

Today, my friend Sherri McConnell and I are facing off in Round 8 of Pillow Fight.  We each made a pillow from the book, Pillow Talk, by Edyta Sitar.  Just look at all of the pretty pillow patterns in the book!

Pillows in the Pillow Talk Book

Make sure you read to the end of this post to find out how to cast your vote for your favorite pillow…mine or Sherri’s!

I have had this stack of Moda Boro Wovens just waiting to be turned into something pretty.  Actually I have two fat quarter bundles, plus the yardage the bundle is sitting on as well as bolts of the bottom three “plus’ prints (those yummy grays! and charcoal).  I really like these fabrics!

These fabrics are a little bit harder to find if your local quilt shop isn’t carrying them.  I did a quick search on Etsy to see what I could find and did notice a couple FQ bundles, some layer cakes, and some charm packs as well as some yardage.

I decided to make the Lone Star Pillow from the book.  I think it’s the perfect farmhouse–feel pillow.

I added big stitch quilting using DMC 8 weight Perle Cotton.  That extra bit of texture is wonderful with all of the texture in the pillow.

I think that it is going to work perfectly in this room!

Visit Sherri’s Blog to read about her pillow that is going up against my Lone Star Pillow.  And then, head over to the Jolly Jabber to cast your vote for your favorite pillow.

And just a reminder, Fairweather is my $5 February pattern…just a few more days left to snag it at the discounted price.

Morning, Corey! Thanks so much for your blog, patterns and fabric! Love the new pillow, but just spent 40 minutes looking in Moda Bake Shop for your “Scattered Squares Pillow” tutorial and came up empty handed. Is there any way that you can post that tutorial under your Pillow heading?

Thank you Gwen!–the pairing was definitely intentional. =) We were both asked at the same time and we both said we’d love to as long as the other was in.
