Ring Around {Block 29 Moda Block Heads}

Ring Around Quilt Block

Good Morning and welcome to week 29 of Moda Block Heads.  This week it is my turn to share a block pattern with all of you.

This block is “Ring Around” and you will find the block pattern here.

For my block, I used a summery mix of fabrics: Strawberry Jam for the block center, Canning Day for the “ring around”, and Sugarcreek for the corners.  It creates such a happy block.

Ring Around works wonderfully in a quilt as well.  I mocked up a quilt so you could see what a whole quilt might look like.  Now, if I were going to piece a quilt using this block, I would probably use it as a scrap buster because it is perfect for using little pieces.  You can see how fun it would look in a quilt.

I used Holliberry fabrics in the quilt design because Holliberry has started shipping to local quilt shops and should be arriving very soon.

Holliberry Fabrics

I know many of you have been waiting on these fabrics so you can start your Christmas projects. =)

It has been a warm summer for us here in Ohio with high humidity and these cool, frosty colors are a breath of fresh air.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day…hopefully staying cool with maybe a dash of sewing thrown in for good measure. =)

Be sure to visit the rest of the Moda Block Heads designers to see what they are up to today.

And if you’ve been waiting on Holliberry, check with your favorite quilt shop to see if they have gotten it in.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Corey

    I love how Ring Around looks as a whole quilt. Do you know how much yardage that would take?

      Thank you!–that Wishes quilt is one of my favorites–I can’t decide if I like it better in the lighter background like I have pictured in the post or the darker version that I’ve shared previously. =)

    Did I see that Holliberry would feature a “quilt” of applique looking blocks that were printed on fabric by the yard? This thought got me excited months ago when I first saw Hollliberry on the Moda site, but haven’t seen another mention of it. Just finishing a quilt with Sugar Creek and I’m keeping in touch with my usual shops for Holliberry.

    Thank you for the new block. I have enjoyed making these blocks and have a bit of work to do to catch up. I love your new fabric line.

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
