September WIPs & UFOs Video
It’s time for our September WIPs & UFOs video. Did you get done what you wanted to over the last month? Do you have new goals for this month?
You can see hear how my month went in my latest video…and see what I might be working on in the upcoming month.
I’ve got some fun quilts I can bind (string stars and string quilt), sew along’s I’d like to participate in, and maybe a block to make. If you’re interested, you can catch the video here.
More info about the string star block pictured at the top of the page can be found here.
The quilt pictured is Ruby Strings. Details on that quilt can be found here.
I’ll be back tomorrow to share another Moda Block Heads block. =) Have a wonderful Tuesday! Corey
Corey, please could you email me? I’m not have much luck with the Woolly Stars pattern. When I’m putting the pieces together for the first ear on the right, the pattern reads sew C (rectangle) to R(rectangle ) this until will measure 3 1/2 in square(?) Except both pieces are rectangular? I’ve looked for corrections for this pattern and didn’t see any. All my pieces are cut and ready to sew and something isn’t correct. When I sew as pattern says and attach to step 5&6 and add an R rectangle to top it’s too long and doesn’t fit next step. This is my first pattern that’s not a Charm Square or a Jelly Roll. This is my 4th quilt and just cutting it out gave me heart failure as I’ve never done it before. Now I understand why people don’t care for it. It’s exhausting. And hurts your brain. Could you please email me? I honestly need help.
friends in Christ,
Debbie Croal
Hey Debbie!–Of course…I’ll send you an email in just a minute. =) Wooly Stars is an intermediate quilt pattern so I can understand why the cutting and sewing has felt tricky for you as a beginning quilt maker. And it is a lot of cutting when you are used to working with precuts only!
Is your format not Adobe format? I can’t seem to download it.
What are you trying to download?
Love the String Star. Made it a few years ago as part of a group challenge for a local quilt show. Made it quite a bit bigger, that was a fun time figuring that out ! Great Tutorial, Thanks.
