Sewcialites Block 26

Another week, another Sewcialites block, our block this week, Courage, is brought to us by Joanna of Fig Tree Quilts.

You will find the block pattern in the usual spots on the Fat Quarter Shop Blog here  or all of the blocks that have been released so far can all be downloaded here–so be sure to bookmark this link!   This is the handiest spot to visit to download the blocks.

As you know, each week, I have been cheering on my little weeping redbud tree to start blooming.  And you can see more purple up there in that photo..but look what has happened just behind my redbud.

The pear trees are blooming away…and green grass…yay!  I told my girls it may be about time to start mowing.  The colors of spring are so nice after the grayness of winter.  We have had an absolutely glorious Ohio weather week…70’s and low 80’s so far.  We spent Tuesday at a friends pool and the weather was so perfect.  And yesterday was a creek day at my sisters..again, perfect weather.

My schedule is so full right now (maybe the busiest it’s ever been) that I wasn’t sure I could enjoy the time off.  But, I didn’t want to waste the beautiful days going over my checklists.  Those few hours off were just what I needed…and sometimes that little bit of time off leads to even more productivity after a bit of a mind/body refresh. =)  I feel much more ready to keep checking things off my list!

This little block is so sunshine-y and happy with that pretty Spring Brook yellow.  I pressed all of my seams open (as I have been doing) but this time, I remembered to snap a picture.  Sometimes it’s nice to see the back of the block too.

I also wanted to share a little bit of a peek of my brand new Cozy Up fabric line.  I haven’t shared it here on the blog (I need to!) but I have been sharing it over on Instagram.  You can find me there @corianderquilts .  Cozy Up ships to quilt shops in August.

It always feels so early to share about new fabric lines when you can’t even purchase them in quilt shops yet (and I still need to do a proper introduction).  However, quilt shops only have a very small window of time to place their Moda fabric orders to guarantee full shipment of their order.  The ordering window for Cozy Up closes in about a week.  So, make sure to let your favorite quilt shops know to order it ASAP if you’d like them to carry it.  And, also, get your pre-orders in for any shops offering them so you don’t miss out.

I do have the new patterns for Cozy Up in my shop if you want to take a peek at them.  Just PDF’s are available right now, but I’ll have the Paper versions in next week.

Have a beautiful weekend! Corey

Those who take the time to get away from the stresses always find themselves refreshed and better able to concentrate on the stressful tasks again. Remember to go outside a couple times a day, walk around and praise God for His beautiful creation. It is a blessing to all of us.

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
