Sherbet Sunshine Flannels Quilts Trunk Show
Today, I am sharing all of my new Sherbet Sunshine Flannels patterns. This was such a fun round-up of patterns to design. If you missed hearing about my new Sunshine Sherbet Flannels, be sure to visit this blog post.
I’ve designed 4 new patterns for this collection; a fat quarter pattern, a layer cake pattern, a charm pack pattern, and a yardage based pattern. I kept all of the piecing simple. When working with flannels (or homespuns/wovens) I prefer simpler patterns.
Watch the Sherbet Sunshine Flannels trunk show video here.
First up is Boxy, a fat quarter friendly quilt finishing at 75″ x 75″.
All of my Sherbet Sunshine Flannels quilts were quilted by David Hurd of Quilting By David. I chat quite a bit more about the quilting on each quilt in the video.
All of the new patterns are available in either Paper or PDF versions. And as always, there is a discounted bundle set of all 4 of the new patterns. You can find all of the options in my shop here.
The next new pattern is called Around Town.
Around Town is a yardage based quilt (you will be purchasing yardage as opposed to a pre-cut) to complete this quilt. It finishes at 60″ x 75″. This was my favorite quilt of all of the new quilts to piece.
It’s also my favorite quilt of all of the new patterns and uses my favorite fabric from the Sherbet Sunshine Flannels line for the backing. I opted to back all of these new quilts in the flannels and the quilts are so cozy.
You knew there had to be a new Barn Star pattern. Meet Barn Star 10. We now have 10 Barn Stars in the Barn Star line-up of patterns. The Barn Star quilt patterns always finish at 40″ x 40″.
The final of the 4 new quilt patterns is Panache.
Panache is one of those quilts that I like designing that looks much trickier to piece than it actually is.
And that’s a peek at all of the new quilts. =) You can find a bundled pattern set with a discount here.
Sherbet Sunshine Flannels will be in quilt shops in July of 2025. If you are interested in having your local quilt shop carry them, be sure to let them know now so they can order them during the ordering window.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. If you are interested in watching the Sherbet Sunshine Flannels trunk show video or the Sherbet Sunshine Flannels fabric video, you can find them both on the Coriander Quilts YouTube channel. Have a wonderful weekend and a very Merry Christmas! Corey
My favorite Christmas movie is It’s A Wonderful Life!!
I absolutely love your fabric line and new quilt patterns.Thank you for sharing!
I can’t wait to get my hands on the new line of flannel! It’s yummy!😋
Love the sherbet colors! Even though we are right at Christmas, a hint at spring colors is never a miss. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas in your new home!
Hi Corey!
I love the flannel Sherbet Sunshine. It will be so fun to sew with in the middle of summer, thinking of sherbet ice cream and bright colors. I have yet to try sewing a flannel quilt so, could you please share what, if anything, you do different while sewing with flannel as opposed to cotton? Such as, preparing the fabric, needle size, stitch length, etc? Merry Christmas and wishing you safety in your move.
QUESTION HI Corey: Do you pre-wash the flannel fabrics before you sew them? I have heard that flannel shrinks more than cotton and it would be wise to do that. The new line is gorgeous and my favorite pattern is Around Town. I think moving your house is the most stressful thing we do, after all that is where we find our comfort and our security and when it’s all boxed up it’s a little scary. The Hubby and I don’t buy gifts for each other or our grown kids, but the grand girls that’s a different story. We don’t go crazy because they have a monetary limit because now that they are getting bigger – everything costs more. Congrats on the new house, enjoy your new space and wishing you and your family a Very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy 2025.
These are the most beautiful colors! Could you do them in cotton? I would buy them! I just spent $400 on your collection from SewYeah
Sherbert quilts are a wonderful design idea. This collection of quilts makes me think of spring during these colder days outside.
Keep on designing!
QUESTION
Hi Corey, I really love the Panache pattern but would like to make it in a larger quilt but not just by adding borders. What would you suggest?
