Idyllic Quilt/ $5 Pattern of the Month

Good morning Friends and welcome to 2023.  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. =)  We spent a quiet New Year’s Eve at home and then got together with family yesterday.  And now today, I am playing catchup after what feels like a very extended holiday time!

The January $5 pattern of the month is Idyllic.  I originally made Idyllic using my Prairie line of fabric (my first fabric line).  The solid yellow version is made using Moda Bella solid in the color Goldenrod (one of my favorite yellows!).

Below, I’ve recolored this quilt so you can see what it would look like in Buttercup & Slate (in stores now) as well as in Sunwashed which is coming out soon.

Idyllic in Sunwashed

Idyllic is an intermediate quilt pattern composed of flying geese and half square triangle units.  It finishes at 82″ x 98″.  You can purchase the pattern for $5 this month in my Etsy shop.

I’ve also shared just a bit about Idyllic over on the YouTube channel which you can watch here.

Have a wonderful Monday! Corey

Happy New Year, Corey and family. Your kitty, Frances, looks just like our little feral kitty we found outside in the shed. No momma or other kitties. We haven’t been able to touch her or love on her and we’ve had her for months! She seems to have made a connection with our 70 pound golden retriever/German Shepherd mix pup, Scout, so we’re hopeful. We have one other cat and Scout’s brother, Spike. All of your fabrics are so pretty and the colors are perfection! I really enjoy your videos and pictures with Tiggs!

That sounds almost like how we found Frances…except she was hiding in a bush. She did let us get her but she wasn’t doing so well when we found her. She’s always been very skittish…if we have visitors, she is nowhere to be found. As soon as she hears someone at the door she darts away to hide.

Hi Corey! I love your fabrics and patterns.Right now I’m finishing up the Buttercup and Slate Sew a Long. I’m loving how it is. Sewing all the little stars. I’m planning to do the sun washed sew along. Do you have a list of fabric requirements yet? I’d like to reserve mine at Fat Quarter Shop. Thanks for your inspirations,

    Hi Corey!
I have wanted to make a yellow and white quilt for years, inspired by a quilt I picked up in an antique store. This quilt is perfect 🤩, I may even sew it on my Featherweight as a nod to “back in the day”!
I so throughly enjoy your YouTube videos, your enthusiasm and uplifting thoughts make my day so many times ( I may or may not rewatch them for the optimism alone 🤭)
    Happy Quilting!,
    Lynda
