Spring Brook Fabrics and Quilts
“I love gardens and gardening, and I would devour the seed catalogs that arrived in my mailbox in January. I’d make lists of seeds and plants to order, and visit nurseries and greenhouses in the spring to plan my flower garden.
But I don’t have much of a “green thumb” so the gardens were always in my dreams. Until now. With Spring Brook, I can plant my garden as a quilt. A profusion of spring flowers, seed packets, and buzzing bees are colored in the soft yellow, white and gray of Pepper & Flax, and a pretty shade of blue, just for fun. As the winter snow melts away, and the grass, trees and flowers burst with new life, my flower garden has come to life.”
Spring Brook is my newest fabric line, which comes out in January, and is full of pretty yellows, greens, grays, and a beautiful cornflower blue.
The prints include sweet daisies, leaves, buzzing bees, a diagonal gingham stripe, and wonderful blenders.
The little orange peel print you see in green on the far left in the photo above is available in a white on white version which is going to be so perfect for quilt backgrounds. My white on white fabrics always sell out so quickly so be sure to let your local quilt shop know if you’d like them to carry this one!
This shade of blue is a new shade for me and I think it is the perfect compliment to those buttery yellows.
And of course, you knew there was probably going to be gray in a line I’ve designed. Spring Brook features both a dark gray as well as that beautiful lighter gray. And how cute are those bees. There is also a bee print on a white background that I somehow didn’t photograph…it’s just the sweetest little print.
And now, on to the quilts! I’ve designed a number of new quilt patterns for this collection.
First up is Company Picnic:
Company Picnic is a honey bun friendly quilt–it will use two of them. It finishes at 71″ x 86″.
You will find all of my new patterns available in my shop in both Paper or PDF versions. And, you will find complete fabric requirements for any of my patterns in the shop listing. My sample quilts were all quilted by Kaylene Parry with the exception of Patchy Stars which was quilted by David Hurd.
Crosswinds is my next new pattern:
Crosswinds is a jelly roll friendly quilt that finishes at 58″ x 72″.
Up next is Patchy Stars. Patchy Stars is the Moda kit quilt for this collection. This means when Spring Brook hits shops in January, you will be able to purchase this as a complete kit in one of those adorable Moda boxes.
Patchy Stars finishes at 70″ x 82″ and is layer cake friendly. And don’t you love the quilting on this one!:
Next up is Petal and Leaf:
Petal & Leaf is a fat quarter friendly quilt that finishes at 78″ x 94″. The quilting on this one is so cute too. Plus, someone is peeking at you! =)
The last new individual quilt pattern is Starry Gingham:
I wanted to really showcase the blues in this quilt and I love how it turned out. You can also see images of this same quilt made using just the greens or a yellow version in my shop listing.
Starry Gingham is a yardage based quilt, that is simple to piece and finishes at 63″ x 81″.
The last quilt I wanted to share is Rain Check:
Rain Check can be found in my upcoming book, Checks Mix Quilts, which releases in November. I haven’t shared about this book here but keep an eye out for an upcoming blog post where I will be sharing all about it!
The cover quilt of Checks Mix featured a variety of fabrics from my fabric lines. I knew that the quilt was going to be amazing in Spring Brook!
So, the book comes out in November–I am taking preorders for signed copies in my shop. And then when Spring Brook releases in January you’ll have just the fabrics you need to make the Spring Brook Version:
If you do choose to preorder Checks Mix from my shop, please order it as an individual item and order anything else you are interested in separately. Items ordered with preorders will be held to ship until the preorder ships in November.
As I mentioned all of the new patterns are available in my shop with the exception of Rain Check which will be available when Checks Mix comes out in November. I also have a Spring Brook pattern bundle for all 5 of the new patterns with a discounted rate and free shipping.
If you love Spring Brook, it would be wonderful if you would let your local quilt shop know that you’d like them to carry it. =)
Thank you so much for reading and be back soon! Corey
Your fabric is lovely, can’t wait! Your quilts and photography are exquisite! Great job again
Such sweet fabrics, Corey. And I love Starry Gingham. It reminds me of my Grandma’s tablecloths.
I love this whole line of fabric….and especially love the Checks Mix Pattern….
Corey, I love this line especially BeeCuzz of the 🐝s! 😊 What beautiful quilts, too. Congratulations on your upcoming book release! I can’t believe it’s been a year since I met you with my mom in Maysville, KY. I’m now living in Northwest Ohio, enjoying the fall weather.
Take care,
Merritt

WOW! You have been busy ! Creating a beautiful palette of colors and print! Love, love it! Can’t wait to buy them when available. 👏👏👏💕💐
Spring Brook sings of nature in these beautiful fresh colors! I love each color and pattern and am very excited about the white on white orange peel! Love the bees, too! Can’t wait! ❤️
Is it January yet!!!
I just love this newest collection! Its beautiful and springy! Can’t wait for it to be available!!
Starry Gingham! Oh my! It just was added to my “must make”list. Love it!
Looking forward to the new line and the book! Isn’t this green is a different shade for you, too?
I do love, love, love Spring Brook. I’m so glad to see you’ve added a beautiful blue to this line but kept the darker grays! Can’t wait to see it in person & I’ll likely buy the book too. I LOVE books almost as much as I LOVE fabric!
The fabric is gorgeous! The blue is so pretty. I’ve ordered my book and can’t wait for the fabric release! Thanks Corey🤩
The new fabrics are so soft and lovely. I must say though, the horses are the best part of the photos. What beauties they are and so sweet next to your newest quilt designs. Thanks so much for sharing.
Corey, this fabric line is wonderful, looking like a spring garden. I will be adding the white on white to my collection for background. It will be a must to make something in the greys with touch of yellow. Thanks
Love your new line – feels like spring with those colors! I have my eye on Starry Gingham for sure. Your pics are always so sweet and I love the horses too! Are they yours? It’s amazing how quickly you are able to create patterns and fabrics!
This might be my favorite line yet! I have always loved a buttery yellow, cornflower blue and green combination, but it is usually paired with a dark blue or navy for contrast. The grays are outstanding and just make it even better! And oh the darling bees and flowers and gingham stripes…. I can’t wait.
I just LOVE your starry gingham pattern! Such a wonderful way to showcase any beautiful fabric you can’t bear to cut up…
I have never been a light blue fabric person but when I saw the blues in Spring Brook they spoke to me. I pre-ordered a fat quarter bundle and can’t wait to touch them.
