Stitching with Lorelai Tutorial

Last week, I shared this little teaser over on Instagram and promised fun was to be had.  And now, the fun has arrived.  If you have anxiously been counting down the days for the new episodes of Gilmore Girls to arrive later this month, then you are in the right place.

I got to spend a weekend with Lee Monroe, of May Chappell fame, this past summer & she is a true delight.  We are both Gilmore Girls fans so, when she asked me to join in on a fun, all things Gilmore, blog hop, I was in.

mini-quilt

Each of us on the blog hop has designed a Gilmore Girls inspired stitching piece so you can stitch and watch when the new episodes hit Netflix.  I based my project off the thousand  yellow daises scene and came up with a fun mini quilt.

The yellows & greys are a mix of Prairie, Sundrops, & Lulu Lane.  They all mix together so nicely!  My mini quilt finishes at 10.5″ x 12.5″.

When I began working on this project, I had originally planned a different embroidery design:

But then ended up going in a different direction:

So, I’ve included the embroidery pattern for both options in one PDF.  You can choose your favorite or make both.  Just click and print the link below:

Lee shared her embroidery design yesterday & you can find her post here.

And here’s the list of upcoming tutorials:
Wednesday, November 16: Tessa Walker of The Sewing Chick
Thursday, November 17: Sarah Lowry of Stitching & Bacon
Friday, November 18: Elizabeth Dackson of Don’t Call Me Betsy
Saturday, November 19: Lee Chappell Monroe of May Chappell

And…a prize–stitching, Gilmore Girls, and the chance to win a prize:

“This is a SUPER casual stitchalong! Basically, all of the designs are free. We’d love for you to stitch them up while binge watching your favorite episodes or even during the second viewing of the revival. The first viewing will require focus. We are having a little giveaway on Instagram. Every time you use the hashtag #stitchingwithlorelai, you get an entry. You can post anything from choosing your floss to your finished product. Unlimited entries. On December 1, we will randomly choose a winner who will receive a SewLux gift card for $50! Special thanks to Chrissy & Linda for donating this awesome prize!”

 So, Happy Stitching~!
