Sugarcreek Fabric

Sugarcreek Prints & Wovens

Welcome back friends.  Today, I am going to be sharing with you my new fabric line for Moda Fabrics,Sugarcreek.

If you have been following me on Instagram, you have seen these pictures popping up over the last couple weeks.  I realize that not everyone is on Instagram or Facebook so I wanted to be sure to share these photos here as well.

Sugarcreek Prints

This line, Sugarcreek, is named after my hometown of Sugarcreek, Ohio.  Isn’t that a quaint name?  The line is full of the warm colors and sights of my childhood.  I suppose, the warm colors and sights of my adulthood as well as I only live about 15 minutes from where I grew up. =)

Sugarcreek Wovens

I am so excited to have both quilting cottons as well as woven fabrics in this collection.   I have been collecting woven fabrics over the years but have never had any in a palette that plays nicely with the print fabrics I enjoy working with.  When I was working on my Sugarcreek collection last summer, I asked if I might be able to have a woven collection to go with the prints and was so excited when the answer was yes.

Sugarcreek Woven Fabrics

As many of you know, I am a fan of hand quilting so when I was working on the wovens I knew that I wanted them to include lots of little stitchy bits.  This allows your projects to feel like you’ve added bits of stitching and hand quilting when in reality, it’s just the fabric.  I love all of that texture.

And, I adore the way they mix with the prints:

Sugarcreek Prints and Wovens

Sugarcreek is filled with flowers, stripes, letters, and polka dots in the warm palette that I love working with.  I always like my collections to play nicely together in a scrappy sort of way.

This blue shade is a new shade of blue and it still mixes so nicely with my previous collections.

Sugarcreek Blues

And this shade of blue mixes so nicely with the peachy pinks.

Sugarcreek Pinky Peaches

I always include greys in my collections.  I just love what grey adds to a quilt.  The shades of color that I enjoy using are set off so nicely by a warm grey.  Sugarcreek has both a light and a dark grey that just lets those sunny prints shine.

Sugarcreek Greys

And I know some of you are all about the yellow and greys mixed together.  Do we need a Pepper & Flax follow up?  These Sugarcreek yellows and greys are so pretty.  That little pop of coral in there is so nice.

Yellow & Grey

I am always drawn to the yellows in a line.  And, I love a buttery yellow–give me all of the sunny colors!

Sugarcreek Yellows

And rounding out the collection are the reds, whites, and greens.  I had to take a picture that included all of these shades.  I keep imagining a Watermelon or a Christmas quilt.  I think the palette is so pretty.

Sugarcreek Reds, Whites, Greens

Sugarcreek ships in September.  Quilt shops are able to order the fabrics right now for shipment in the fall.  If you’d like your local shops to carry them, be sure to ask them to!

And then we have all of the new quilt patterns to go with the new fabrics:

I will be back to share the new quilts later.  If you want to take a peek at them, I have them all listed in my Etsy Shop.  Use code FREESHIP in my shop for free shipping on paper pattern orders of 2 or more.

And take advantage of my monthly $5 pattern.  For the month of May, Make It Modern will be $5.  No code needed.

Make it Modern is available in two different sizes and there’s a bonus third quilt option inside the pattern.

Hope you all are able to enjoy a beautiful rest of your week and find a bit of time for sewing. =)
