Sunday Best Quilts Sampler Block 7
Gladdening Sampler Block
Welcome Sunday Samplerers…(is that a word? =) to week 7 of our Sunday Best Quilts Sampler Quilt along. Also, read to the bottom of the post for giveaway winners from Wednesday’s giveaway. =)
Today our block is the Gladdening block from Sunday Best Quilts. The Gladdening quilt in the book was my design for the Christmas quilt section of the book.
I used Return to Winter’s Lane by Kate & Birdie for Moda fabrics. I always love her lines of Christmas fabric–they tend to look more “wintery” instead of “Christmas-y” which I quite enjoy.
For my sampler block, I used Sugarcreek fabrics and these are the exact ones that I used:
Pinwheels 29075-11
From top to bottom:
Red 29071-12
Pink 29070-14
Yellow 29073-16
Green 29074-19
Aqua 29072-18
Light Gray 29071-21
Dark Gray 29070-20
I was curious how the sampler block would look in a whole quilt–and especially keeping that same rainbow order. Here’s the outcome–isn’t it pretty!
The full pinwheels in the sampler block add a little bit of extra pizzazz. =)
Here is this week’s PDF for the Gladdening Sampler Block.
And here is the coloring page for the Gladdening Sampler block.
