Teaching Locally
Good Morning & happy Friday! I just got back from Portland, Oregon this week from sharing my new fabric line, Sunnyside Up at International Quilt Market this past weekend. You can see a little peek at those fabrics above. I will be sharing more about them soon.
I’ve been wanting to pop on here and share some local teaching I will be doing this summer. I have started limiting my teaching and speaking engagements to local events so I wanted to be sure you were aware of these opportunities.
First Up, I will teaching at the Coriander Quilt Retreat (Corey and her quilt retreat) hosted by The Plaid Sheep Company (formerly Country Craft Cupboard) from July 8-11. I will be sharing my newest quilts/patterns Sunday evening during a mini trunk show–so you’ll get to see all of the new Sunnyside Up goodies in person. =) On Monday morning, I will be teaching a 3 hour class to get you started making your very own Maple Charm quilt.
This is such a fun, autumn scrappy quilt. The Plaid Sheep company will have kits available in both a traditional and a less traditional option that I will be putting together for students to purchase if they wish.
On Tuesday morning, I will be teaching a surprise project. I’m not giving any details on that right now, but it’s going to be something fun! This will be another 3 hour class. We wanted to be sure to give everyone attending the retreat plenty of time for their own personal sewing and sight seeing. Berlin, Ohio is beautiful in the summer & you don’t want to miss checking out all of the wonderful quilt shops!
For more information on this retreat or to sign up, contact The Plaid Sheep Company. You can visit their facebook page here.
The other fun event that I am teaching at is Quilter’s Gathering in Berlin which takes place August 23-25. This is a brand new, yearly event kicking off this year. There will be a bolt blow-out on Thursday evening. I’ll be doing a large trunk show on Friday morning. I can bring so many goodies to share when it is a local event! I’ll also be teaching a hand quilting class and a string pillow class during the event. You can see the dates and times on the website. In addition, there are other classes being taught, an ice cream social, food truck, and vendor’s mall. And, it’s being held at the, just this month opened, Berlin Encor Hotel & Suites, it is a beautiful venue! Visit the Quilter’s Gathering Website for more details or to register for classes or my trunk show. I hope to see everyone there! =)
If you’ve enjoyed seeing the Sunnyside Up sneak peeks in this post, I’ll be sharing the quilts and fabrics next week. I have enjoyed working with these fabrics so much!
I love your collection!! happy teaching days!
Thank you on both accounts! =)
Hi Corey! I’m signed up for the retreat in July. Can’t wait!
