Tuesday Stitching
Man, thanks so much for all of your thimble advice yesterday! I do have a thimble that I like so it seems that I will have to be popping that puppy on more often! =p Some more stitching is on the agenda for today(sans thimble =p)–we are having a very rainy Tuesday–are you all having a crazy winter as well? It’s in the 50s and rainy–more like an April day today but just perfect for stitching.
Right before Christmas, Laurie Wisbrun, contacted me and asked me if I’d like to work with some of her new line of fabric Brrr which isn’t due out until June….Yes, please!–Sign me up! I love Laurie’s fabrics:
I knew right away that I wanted to do some kind of any embroidery project using those cute polar bears. Yesterday, I sketched up a cute little pattern and today I’d like to do a little bit of stitching. Many of you have asked me if I’ll be doing another Embroidery BOM this year and while I don’t intend to, I do plan on offering various free embroidery patterns and this will be one of them. =)
Elonie wanted me to take a picture of her with these fabrics…silly girl. =p
I’m glad Elonie’s pajamas matched the fabric! Ha!
I agree – those fabrics are beautiful. Such vivid colors! Have a fun day.
Pretty girl, pretty perle!
Love your color palet. What ever you make with them is bound to be gorgeous.
What a gorgeous little girl! Looks like she is waiting for her sewing lessons!
Enjoy.
so jealous, i <3 laurie wisbrun so much, have almost everything i've ever seen her make!
I was just at Scarlet Fig’s sight and those polar bears are awesome. Lucky!
Such a cute little girl. The fabrics are beautiful.
Would love some more of your beautiful embroidery patterns.
Follow your BOM last year & really enjoyed it.
Great coloured fabric.
Looking forward to your posts.
Thanks Sandra
Oooh!! What gorgeous fabrics you have there … looking forward to seeing what you’ve come up with!!!
cant wait to see what you make!
Polar bears in June – must be thinking ahead for next winter – enjoy!
So excited that you are going to be posting more embroidery projects. Just started the little birdies and I am loving it. Already planning my next one. I cant wait to see what you come up with.
Hi Corey,
I’m a bit new to your blog…so forgive me if you’ve discussed this before. Where do you by your perle? Do you have a shop you go to or do you buy online? I looked in my local Joann’s this week and their selection was so-so.
And (sorry to be a pest…don’t feel compelled to answer all my questions!), are you using 5 on regular cotton fabrics? I think I’d rather use perle than DMC but I’m not as familiar with perle (because I haven’t done much embroidery since I was a little girl).
I love your posts…thanks for being here!
Welcome! I can buy my perle locally but prior to that I purchased a lot from http://www.yarnbazaar.com. They carry Finca which I am a huge fan of–I typically work with the size 8 or 12 wt–most often size 8. =)
Beautiful colors 😉
