Two in One
April was my month for the Scraptastic Bee. I sent out Kona charcoal and requested blocks made using my Stashbuster Block Tutorial. You can see some of these blocks above–the ones with the solid gray center. The girls supplied all of the colorful bits from their stash–they variety of fabrics in these blocks is amazing! May is my month in the International Stash Busting Bee & I requested blocks using my Stashbusting Block #2. You can see one of these blocks in the center of the layout above.
I will be using the blocks that I receive from these two bees to make one larger quilt. I designed the blocks planning on using them together and I really like the way they work. I prefer an on point layout but who knows if I’ll change my mind once I have more blocks to lay out.
If you are looking for a way to bust some of your stash fabrics, these blocks work perfectly. The squares are cut at 1.5″ and will finish out at 1″ within the block. Perfect for using up even those teeny little scraps.
WOW! I love the blocks! I was just looking at my teeny scraps yesterday and thinking about tossing them…maybe I should hang on to them and make some of these blocks. Even if I only get a pillow done it will be fabulous!
Stunning – I really really like this block. It's going to be an awesome quilt.
I'm not a fan of grey but seeing your blocks layed out, it really works.
Love those blocks! Can't wait to see the whole quilt. Thanks for sharing.
I know you've heard it before, but I adore these two blocks. And I love the idea of using two bees to help make one quilt. Fantastic! So practical…especially one with all this little piecing!
