WIPS Video and a {GIVEAWAY}
Wasn’t last weeks YouTube video fun! I’m so glad you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Today’s video is a WIP video. It’s been so long since I shared one of these (I didn’t realize how long it had actually been!). I’m showing a bunch of finished quilt tops, quilt blocks…a new project I want to work on (more Hymn Tea Towels!):

The other thing I had the fun of chatting about in the video is the new hoodie I am wearing in my video. My 15 year old daughter, Elonie, drew this design and I think it’s so great! I’ve added it to my Coriander Quilts Merch shop if you’d like one of your own. She is such a talented artist and I’m excited to offer one of her designs! Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year. I have been a fan for years. My favorite fabric line by far is Buttercup and Slate. I have been saving it for the perfect quilt. Pattern has been chosen and eagerly waiting for me to start. At the moment I am working on WIP quilts to get them finished but I do get distracted and start something new. Christmas is my favorite time as I pick 4-5 people in the community each year that are in my thoughts. They may have an illness, a loss or be alone. I will package a quilt in a Santa bag and leave it at their home with the note reading “A hug from Santa” No recognition, just let them know someone is thinking of them. My husband and I have done this on Christmas Eve for the past few years. I have only had one person figure me out and that was delightful to hear her thankfulness 4 years later. My first BOM was from Fig Tree and boy has my quilting improved since the 2008. I would be overjoyed and greatful to be the recipient of your blocks. You are an inspiration and a joy to follow. I decided to take up quilting in my seventies. I started, but then life interrupted and I was diagnosed with cancer for the fifth time. I am now eighty-one and I now have made the quilt tops for my two great grandsons. Now I need to make two tops for my great granddaughters. Your tops are always so light and fresh, I think they would be great for those projects.
I think I have as many WIP as you do, but I would love to add one more!!

I love the sweatshirt and the tea towels. I would love to enter the giveaway. I have a huge glass side door panel that I want to put a quilt behind it and then hang it on a wall. I have done that with old windows and it looks beautiful. I have finally touched and taken out some of my “Corey Stash” that I have been collecting for years and have started to make myself a new quilt for my bed. It will take me longer than I want with Christmas presents taking over for now. I have 2 barn quilts done so the main part of it is done. I will post pictures when it is when I am done. I am also going to make a bed runner and some pillow shams with this. So excited to finally use this wonderful and beautiful fabric.

I love the sweatshirt! Now it needs to be on a vneck tshirt, it’s still 80 degrees here! Your daughter dud a great job! My 17yr old granddaughter paints the tops of my clappers for me. I have a frog, a fish, a daschaund and flowers! Love them all and they work great as long as it’s only the top and sides that are painted. Look forward to your video every week!

I haven’t started the scrappy Irish chain even though I have all the background pieces ready. I’ve decided it is going to be something I work on over several years because the fabric scraps are getting prettier the more quilts I do. Also, I enjoyed the ornament exchange. I made the spool trees and maybe this idea has already been done, I’m going to make a spool with the scraps from each quilt I do in 2024 and put them in a bowl or pretty jar. My 3″ hoops were delivered yesterday so I’ll be doing them next!

This year has been a really tough year. Hubby has had 2 shoulder replacements, my back has just about given out on me, our daughter died and just over 3 months later my sister-in-law died. I love the sweatshirt!! I have a couple of the hymn tea towels and really dont want to use them. Maybe Ill buy more and make a quilt.

Corey, thank you for reframing the UFP guilt into a more positive group of thoughts ♥️ I am actually looking forward to finishing up some projects in the new year (as well as getting a jump on holiday gifts for 2024, so that hopefully there will not be a collection of items that need finishing at the last minute). It would be a great motivator to complete something you had started.
Your ‘no sew’ ornaments were just the thing for me to make for a last ‘minutes’ request from my Mother, to create some ornaments to be sold at her church craft fair. So gratefully for all of the Moda designers ideas, but especially yours because I found some tiny hoops, and was able to create something lovely under a tad of pressure.

I love Figs Fabric! I have only managed to get 2 Christmas fat quarter packs over the last few years. The only local store I know of that carries any amount of it is Coshocton. Good gracious it took forever to get down where I could leave a comment. Your work is, well, not to be redundant a work of ART.You’re piecing is so precise and color choices are just perfect. And your daughter, that lil Apple didn’t fall too far from that tree of talent, did it. I love her sewing machine sketch, shrink that down and add to it some more sketches of sewing related things and print it on a low volume fabric and in my opinion, perfection. I would love to enter giveaway. Thank you. Love your YouTube I watch every one. I’d like to share something with you, last year I made a new year’s resolution. For every quilt I start I needed to finish 2 . I had quilts that just needed bindings, some tops that had been sitting for years that needed to be quilted, some started blocks that needed to be put together. I finished 27 quilts. Some I started I did complete as they were for someone. So as I look back on the year I am happy with the progress I made. I think I’m going to keep going, see if I could top this year.

Hello, I’m new to your channel. Very glad I found you. It’s been a very long time since I made a quilt. I have only made a few – when my two daughters were little and for my first 3 grandkids, but now I’m a grandma of 7!! I also am now caring for my elderly mother who has been diagnosed with alzheimer’s and lives with us. I am hoping that doing quilting with her would bring some joy to her again. thank you for showing the hymn tea towels. seeing your quilt brings back so many happy memories for me. my grandmother used to sing hymns so often as she taught me to sew and crochet. many of the songs in these towels were some of her favorites. i am now planning on making some into pillows for my home to honor her. I love your works in progress videos. It gives me the incentive to work on mine but not beat myself up if I don’t have the time to work on them right now. I am taking a break from quilting but hopefully I get to it again after the first of the year if I don’t have to have my shoulder operated on. Your giveaway looks like something I would love to do. It would also give me something to dream about getting done if I do have the surgery. I could at least get it planned out while I am recuperating.

Cory, I never leave a comment, but that being said, today I had to after seeing your sweatshirt, please, please keep encouraging that talented 15 year old in art. Her ability is just awesome to see! I would love to see what she comes up with next time for a design. I enjoy your videos and sew alongs, but mostly I love your fabric and color choices. I wait and wait until something new comes out and then buy it in every size pack. My husband said I am a fabric hoarder when it comes to you. Lol, he even knows your name when I say I bought new fabric. He just lets me buy what I want. I am a cancer patient and this is my therapy or way to stay busy. Hello Corey, I understand more than you imagine. My only child went to college in August, many people and even myself thought I will have time to make so many things. Ha Ha! I love your videos, quilts, fabrics, etc. I started quilting (and sewing) three years ago when my youngest son went away for college. Honestly I needed to keep my mind busy and my fingers busy, so I wouldn’t eat myself into oblivion 🙂 Needless to say, I visited a local quilt shoppe and the ladies there helped me so much, talking about fabric, threads, tools, patterns and everything quilting. It has become my obsession and I already spend way too much money on it! But, it keeps me out of trouble. Hello Cory. Those fabrics are beautiful! If you gift them to me, I will share them with my two thirteen year old grand daughters. I bought them both a sewing machine for Christmas this year. They asked me to teach them how to make a quilt during our Christmas Break. (Yes, I am their eighth grade teacher too.) The one grandchild who brought it up said she wanted that memory of us to keep forever. ❤️

I have been working on my scrappy Irish chain veeeeerrrry slowly too, but still aiming for the full size quilt. I’ve been just using scraps and stash for all of 2023, so winning a set of blocks and fabrics from you would be amazing and would keep my scrappy stretch going into 2024!

I am a beginner quilter. I think the quilting world is exciting! I am having so much fun with this craft! I am a nurse and I wanted to find a hobby that could help relieve stress and provide a different focus. I found that in quilting. I completed my first quilt and I was so excited! I really enjoy watching your YouTube videos. I beginning to read your blogs (I have a lot of catching up to do on the blogs). I also have build a stash collection of your fabric line which are very beautiful by the way (there are a few more to get).
