Year of the Sparkle
Chloe started first grade on Tuesday. She was very excited about it–me, not as much….I like having my girlies at home…even if I spend some good quality referee time with them.
Chloe decided before starting first grade that this year would be “the year of the sparkle”…meaning she plans on wearing a lot of sparkly clothes. She said 2nd grade could also be the year of the sparkle. Her first day of school outfit wasn’t sparkly but, let me tell you she sure was bedazzled on day two!
I think Chloe is onto something…doesn’t everyone need a year of sparkle? =) Maybe not specifically wearing sparkly clothes but just having a sparkly sort of year…sure sounds like fun to me!
In other news, I have a new sewing area. Hubster and I spent the last weekend doing some pretty major revamping/reorganizing which included moving my sewing space into our basement. We also moved down all of the kidders toys so I’m hoping this will help contain the upstairs mess and the endless tidying up…you all know how that goes!
Oh, and by the way, Chloe came home from her first day of 1st grade and said “School sure is slick.”–year of the sparkle is off to a great start! =)
Way to go Chloe…Have a great sparkly year!
Chloe is so adorable. Her eyes sparklel! Hope she has a wonderful school year!

Chloe is really cute. My granddaughter started kindergarten and I think she has been bouncing ever since–so excited to be in school. I think we should all have a sparkly year!
chloe is just beautiful…when our youngest granddaughter started kindergarten last year everyone asked if emily was ready for school…i said the question should have been is school ready for emily…happy to say that both she and the school survived and this year she will be in first grade…
I like your works, they are beautiful.
Congratulations
have a good day

I have a Chloe entering 4th grade this year – she loves sparkle too! Best wishes to you both!
très joli petit mannequin et joli petit haut fleuri bravo
That’s adorable! I’m going to have to share with my 2nd grade daughter who loves all things sparkly!
Jennifer 🙂
PS your sewing space looks great! It helped me a ton to move my daughter into my sewing room. I got a lot more done and yes, the mess was more contained.
Thank you! That was just what I needed. Just sent my oldest off to college and am sadder than a pup that can’t find it’s mamma. I’m off to find some sparkle!
what a sweet girl. 🙂
(and look at all that sewing space… very nice)
Chloe is adorable!!
So not fair having both an adorable child and drool-worthy stack of fabrics!
I love that outfit Chloe is wearing – she’s so adorable!!!
And that sewing space = WOW!!!! I am in love with your ‘new room’!! And that collection of fabrics — I don’t see you lacking in inspiration any time soon!
Enjoy this year hun … If Chloe’s year is going to sparkle, I pray yours will too!!
The Year of the Sparkle….Chloe’s on to something big!
Out of the mouths of babes, huh? Kids are wonderful. They sure keep us grounded. The year of the sparkle, indeed.
I love the idea of a year of sparkle! I might have to have day of sparkle regularly or something…. sparkle always makes you happy!
Love the first day picture. Somewhere, in an album 35+ years old, I have one of my son. =) It sounds like there’s first grade drama going on. Have a wonderful time with the sleepover – whoever is wherever.
Thanks for the ongoing birdie stitches blocks. I got behind because I bought a house this summer, just moved in, but I’ll be catching up, and love having these little guys to show for the year. My backstitching has improved tremendously!
