A Very Coriander Christmas Pillow

I have been wanting to turn one of the quilt blocks from my A Very Coriander Christmas into a pillow for awhile.

All of the blocks in the book are the perfect size, 18″, to turn into a quick patchwork pillow.  If you haven’t had a chance to pick up the book from your favorite quilt shop, I have signed copies available in my Etsy shop.

I love making pillows. =)  One of my favorite things about making pillows is that it allows me to try out new techniques without being locked into something I may or might not be good at or enjoy doing.  If you’ve wanted to try hand quilting, or applique, a new method of machine quilting, or even machine binding…pillows give you the perfect opportunity to try any of those techniques out.

I used Beautiful Day fabrics for my pillow which means it coordinates perfectly with any of my Beautiful Day quilts.

It would be so pretty with my gray Simply Charming quilt!  You can snag that free pattern here.

If you want to try making a pillow of your own using one of the blocks from A Very Coriander Christmas (or any other 18″ block), I just shared a video over on my YouTube channel sharing my process to turn the quilt block into a pillow.  You can find the video here.

I’ll be back on Friday to share my next blocks for the Heartfelt Quilt Along.  Those blocks have been so much fun to make!

I also wanted to let you know that my March $5 pattern of the month is Cotton Frock.

Cotton Frock is my $5 pattern for this month. You can find it in my Etsy shop here.

This is such a fun quilt to make!

Have a wonderful Wednesday and see you on Friday! =) Corey

I love the block! I have thought many times since I have finished the Snowman quilt (not quilted yet) what a cute pillow that would make as well.

I have a fat quarter stack of Beautiful Day which I’m using for the Mystery BOM. Will there be enough left of the FQ’s to use in the Heartfelt BOM? I love both of them! thanks…arden

I would think you might run short…both projects require a number of fat quarters and the Heartfelt quilt requires yardage of some of the prints as well.

    Thank you!

so love the pillow! I love to make pillows and started putting invisible zippers in them instead of the fabric flap. How do you put the binding around the pillow, if you use a zipper as a closure?
