Beautiful Day Mystery Quilt Along Block 3: Fun Dash
It has been a busy week here on the blog!–There have been so many fun things to share. Today, the third block of the Beautiful Day Mystery block of the month releases.
Fun Dash is the third block in this block of the month.

Fun Dash is an oversized churn dash block that features the Beautiful Day panels in the center. Because these are larger blocks, they work great for showing off even the larger scale prints in Beautiful Day.
Every month when I share the new block patterns, I am always struck with how the panels elevate even the simplest block.
In the video tutorial over on my YouTube channel for Fun Dash, I share a great ruler (June Tailor Perfect Half-Square & Quarter-Square Triangles ruler) for making half-square-triangles. I’ve had this ruler for about 12 years and I use it a lot. It was the first ruler I bought specifically to trim half-square-triangles & it has become a go-to for me. I have many different methods I use to make HST’s but I find myself reaching for this ruler often to trim my half-square-triangles to size. It’s also a wonderful ruler for trimming down quarter-square-triangle/hourglass blocks.
You can watch the Fun Dash video tutorial here.
These are the dates of the remaining Beautiful Day mystery block releases:

Block 5: June 18, 2022

Thanks so much for stopping by! Corey
I can’t wait to make this block and add it to the others! I am loving this sewalong so much, thank you Corey!
I love this one! Thank you for such a pretty sew-along, it’s a lot of fun
I’m loving your blocks and the fabrics! Saw the Beautiful day preview last summer and couldn’t wait for it to be available!
These fabrics are so beautiful and I love the blocks for this mystery!
I have a question though….if I already have a Beautiful Day layer cake, charm pack, panel and background fabric, do I have enough to make this quilt?
No, a layer cake is too small to be able to cut some of the pieces from…the charm pack wouldn’t be either.
What do you Recommend? Pat
I really enjoy the beauty of the panel and beautiful day fabric ! I do look forward to the next block. Question: will you offer ideas for quilting when done? I contemplate overall design or something within each block.
I will be sharing my completed quilt and how I had it quilted.
So beautiful!! Love the colors.
I just printed out the pattern, and as I look at your blocks I am absolutely loving your dot fabric churndashes. I can’t wait to try using some of the checks from Cozy Up on my blocks!!
I am obsessed with this fabric line! I bought half yards to start with and just keep adding to the collection. I don’t think I will ever get tired of it though.
Hi, This is such a fun quilt along! How many of the panel blocks will we be using? Thank you!
I love your fabric, patterns, and blog. I have joined the Beautiful Day and the weekly Block Head quilt a longs. So much fun. I like the weekly because I am retired and have the time. The first time I “met” Corey was when I bought A Coriander Christmas. I loved it! It sparkled. Haven’t made it yet, because I promised a friend we would do it together, so I wait. Thank you for being you,
I can hardly wait for each months new blocks. They are lovely to make and sewing them is always so enjoyable. I am having lots of fun and have say I find the blocks and patterns so enjoyable while sewing them. Always so appealing and wonderful when made. Thanks for these wonderful mystery blocks Corey. Carol
This is a great sew along! I’ve been enjoying it very much! I am using Apricot and Ash and was just wondering if you have a recommendation for the border fabric from this line? Thank you!
