Buttercup & Slate Quilts

Today, I am excited to share both a blog post and a new video about my new quilt patterns featuring Buttercup & Slate.  Grab your favorite drink and let’s chat about these quilts for a bit.

First up is Fly Away Blackbird.  This quilt uses two charm packs plus some additional yardage to complete the 72″ x 72″ quilt.

This is such a fun quilt!  Be sure to watch the video to get an idea of the scale of those birds.

My quilter, Kaylene Parry (@quilterlove66 on Instagram) used the “Karen’s Basket Weave” quilting design on this quilt.   Kaylene did the quilting on all of the quilts I am sharing today.

All of the patterns (with the exception of Granny’s Stars–which you’ll see at the end of this post) are available in quilt shops now and in my Etsy shop.

Next up is Jelly Sticks:

Jelly Sticks has been a very popular pattern!  I’ve nearly sold out of my first order of patterns and already have more on order to arrive next week.  Jelly Sticks is a simple to piece jelly roll quilt that finishes at 56″ x 68″.

I love the quilting on this one!  I hadn’t used this design previously…it’s called Sunflower Field Clam.  I love this design with these fabrics especially.

Joy Filled is a fun to piece sampler quilt.

It uses fat eighths (cuts that are 9″ x 22″) and features a variety of quilt blocks.  Joy Filled finishes at 60″ x 72″.

The patchwork border is such a fun way to finish off this quilt.  Of course you are seeing plenty of striped bindings…my favorite!

Kaylene used Baptist Fan to quilt this one.

I designed a wall hanging in this group of patterns.  For some reason I don’t write as many wall hanging patterns so it was time! =)

Sunny Flowers is a yardage based quilt and it finishes at 45 1/2″ square.  This was a great one to show off some of those pretty yellows in this line.  The quilting on this one is Interlocked Orange Peel.

I used the little sketchy print on white for the sashing in this quilt…that print is going to be fun to use more. =)

All of these patterns can be found in my Etsy shop in both PDF & Paper versions.  I have a bundle set of the new Buttercup & Slate patterns if you think you’d like them all.

The final quilt to share today is Granny’s Stars:

Granny’s Stars is a free pattern with the collection.  The pattern will be available when Buttercup & Slate starts shipping to quilt shops in August/September so keep an eye out for it!  Granny’s Stars is a simple quilt to piece.  It utilizes the grandmother’s flower garden cheater print from Buttercup & Slate which makes it look trickier than it actually is to piece.  Kaylene used the “Paper” quilting design to quilt this one.  This is another current quilting favorite of mine.

If you’d like to see these quilts a little bit better and here me talk about them, I just shared a Buttercup & Slate quilts video on my YouTube channel.

Tiggs says he would be happy to snuggle up with any of them! =)  As I said, the patterns (except for Granny’s Stars) are available now.  Buttercup & Slate fabrics ship to quilt shops in August/September.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back on Saturday with the 3rd pattern of the Beautiful Day Mystery BOM…see you then!  Corey

If I have to pick a favorite, I am partial to chain quilts so Fly Away Blackbird would be my choice. But I like them all. I also will like your free pattern as I like being able to use the cheater cloth for easy piecing what looks like a more complicated block. I’m enjoying your videos.
