Block Heads Round 3 Block 5
It is week 5 of this round of Block Heads. And that means, it is time for Brigitte’s Love block.
To download the pattern for this fun, paper pieced block visit Brigitte’s blog.
For my block, I used some of the pinky peaches from Sugarcreek and Canning Day (LOV are from Sugarcreek and E is from Canning Day). Canning Day comes out this month so not too much longer until it will be hitting your local quilt shops! I know some of you will be new to paper piecing. I put together a tutorial for paper piecing during the Sunday Best Sampler quilt along. If you are new to paper piecing, you might find it helpful.
Here are my first 5 blocks…and a little tip for you guys. It’s a great idea to lay out your blocks periodically to see how all of the fabrics/colors are jiving. By looking at this photo, I can easily see that I might want to add a little bit of that orchid color to another block before too long. With 56 blocks being made, color adjustments can be made along the way. But, it’s great to get a good visual every now and then so you can add colors you might have overlooked.
If you are just now joining Moda Block Heads, I suggest joining the Block Heads facebook group. In the “Files” section of the Facebook group, you can find the first 4 blocks that have been released. Block 5 is available on Brigitte’s blog today and will be added to the Files section of the Facebook group on Friday. Also, in the “Announcements” section of the Facebook group, links to blocks are posted as well as important information.

Happy Sewing! Corey
Thank you for the reminder to keep checking our colors to make certain we end up with a fabulously coordinated quilt! This is my first block-a-long and I’m really enjoying it!
I’m so glad to have you joining in! And you are so welcome for that tip. =)
I am enjoying the sew-alongs, Corey from doing Sunday’s best quilt along .. I learned the importance of a 1/4″ seam … before I used to be all over the place .. but now I stay on that 1/4″ mark the best I can, and my blocks are turning out so much better .. and true to size. … thank you so much … Kim
Isn’t it amazing how much difference being off just a little bit makes. These sew alongs are so nice in that we get to try out so many different techniques that we might not otherwise try. =)
