Blockheads–Halfway Point
Can you believe that we are at the halfway point of Blockheads round 2? It doesn’t hardly seem possible!
This fall has been zipping by–and here we are at another Wednesday!
Block #25 is brought to us by Lisa Bongean–visit her site for the pattern. It’s called Oshkosh Star and it’s such a fun block pattern.
I’m going to let you in on a secret–I am not happy with my fabric choices for this block. 🙂 I don’t love the way those red berries butt up against my red star & I think that the green floral is too busy for this block. That’s the beauty of a sampler quilt though, once it’s mixed in with all of the other blocks, it will be just fine. Another reason I wanted to share that with you is that I think as new quilters, we can sometimes get down on ourselves about our fabric choices. Well, I’ve been making quilts for 20 years and I still make choices that I’m not happy with–we all do–even if we don’t let on. 😉
Just keep at it and make a better choice next time….much like life. 🙂
Up next is my block–Churndash Surprise. You’ll find the pattern here.
I love a Churndash block. The first quilt pattern I designed under my pattern company included a Churndash block!
This is my Dashing quilt, using my Prairie fabrics.
If it tickles your fancy as well, you’ll find the pattern in my shop.
For this week’s Churndash block, I used all Pepper & Flax fabrics & it turned out cute as a button.
If you are using the coloring pages for these blocks, here they are:

It’s really true about sampler quilts… some of the blocks don’t turn out the way we had hoped, but it’s all good in the end!
Hi Corey, though the green fabric may not be your favorite in this block, I do love it! Is it from a collection that may be available or it it too old? Thanks for all you do for the quilting community! I have enjoyed following along with you on this challenge.
