Bountiful Charity Quilt Along

The gang over at Fat Quarter Shop sent me the Bountiful quilt so that I could share about it in a YouTube video.  It was so much fun having their finished quilt here and has made me even more excited for the charity sew along to begin soon.

I’ve chatted about this quilt along previously but wanted to share a bit more about it as we get closer to the kick-off of the quilt along.  The Bountiful quilt along is this year’s charity quilt along sponsored by Fat Quarter Shop.  This is the 10th year they have hosted this quilt along.  This year, the featured fabrics for the quilt along are Sunwashed and I had the fun of designing the quilt this year.

I filled it with flowers, butterflies, and baskets and I couldn’t be happier with how the quilt all came together.  It will finish at 64″ square making it such a nice throw sized quilt.

For those of you unfamiliar with how the quilt along works, the Bountiful quilt along will be kicking off on March 3 with the release of the Basket block.  You’ll be able to download the block pattern and donations are suggested to Make A Wish for the use of the pattern.  You can see the complete block release schedule as well as additional details about the quilt along here.

As there was last year, this year there will also be a stitch-along featuring the same design as the quilt but in cross-stitch format.  The stitch-along works the same way as the quilt along with stitching patterns being released monthly and a suggested donation to Make A Wish.

Any fabrics you’d like can be used to make your Bountiful quilt, but if you’d like to sew along using Sunwashed.  Fat Quarter Shop has put together a beautiful Bountiful kit featuring Sunwashed fabrics.  The kit includes the fabrics you will need to complete the quilt top plus the binding fabric.  Additionally, it includes the patterns you need to complete the quilt top so you wouldn’t have to wait for the monthly pattern release.  You can reserve a kit here.  It’s anticipated that they will begin shipping very soon.

You also have the option to purchase the pieced backing finishing kit if you’d like to finish your quilt exactly as pictured above.  The Sunwashed Bountiful backing kit can be reserved here.

If you are interested in seeing more about the quilt, quilt backing or quilt kit for the Bountiful Quilt Along, be sure to stop by my video today.

If you are planning on stitching along with the Bountiful stitch-along, you can purchase a floss kit here.

I’m going to be sewing along with all of you during the Bountiful sew along using fabrics by Camille Roskelly.  I think this will make such a pretty quilt!  My quilt is going to be auctioned off at the end of the sew along to benefit Make A Wish along with several others.  This is always such a fun quilt along to participate in!

And the last bit of business to share today is the giveaway winner from last week’s giveaway post.

Jamie Bekker, this pretty bundle of goodies is headed your way!  Congratulations!…I’ve sent you an email. =)

I wish everyone a wonderful Saturday! Corey

So pretty! I might do the cross stitch-along for this one since I still have some wips to finish and I plan to do the Sunny Patches QAL. I bought some Sunwashed yardage today at Somewhere Sewing. I love every print, especially the bees!
