Bountiful Charity Quilt Along: Release 3

Happy Friday friends!…today we have the fun of the 3rd block release for the Bountiful Quilt along.  If you read my post yesterday, you might also guess that I was scrambling to get my blocks done for today.  If you thought that might be the case, you were right LOL. =)

As you can see I did get them done…they were my project for yesterday.  There are usually a couple days a week where I have some time to myself while my girls are at their jobs.  I find that I am usually more productive (quilt/fabric work-wise) on the days that neither of them is home.  =)  Whereas the days when we are all here together, we might be doing more home related tasks…that laundry and house cleaning always seems to need done, doesn’t it!  It sure goes a lot faster when we can all work together.

If you missed any of the previous Bountiful quilt block patterns, I’ve linked them below in addition to today’s Sunflower block pattern.

Bountiful Release 3: Sunflower Block Pattern

Bountiful Release 2: Wildflower Blocks & Center Block Patterns

Bountiful Release 1: Basket Block Pattern

If you want to bookmark the page where all of the monthly patterns are released, both the quilt block patterns as well as the cross stitch patterns, you will find that page here.

I made the two blocks for today in identical fabrics using a mix of mostly Dwell by Camille Roskelley with just a bit of Nantucket Summer also by Camille.  All of these blocks are turning out so pretty!  Our resident block inspector, was waiting just outside the photos above and I had to show you a little bit of behind the scenes:

He’s always eager to check out what I am up to when I take photos outside and he is often just beyond the edge of my photos (if not directly in the photo). =)

It’s never too late to join in on this quilt along!  If you’ve missed details and want to jump in now, you can read my introductory post here.  There are still Sunwashed quilt kits available for this sew along.  With the purchase of the kit, you receive all of the monthly patterns in advance.

Have fun sewing up your Sunflower Quilt blocks! Corey

I’m so new at quilting but this one caught my eye and is enchanting! However, it’s so big! Is there a formula to reduce the size so it would be more manageable for me? If this is an inappropriate question, I apologize. Thank you.

Just finished these. Not hard to do just take your time. Smaller pieces actually harder. I did not do the leaves split but cut one fabric the finished size for the green this will make it easier and faster also. Hope this helps

OMG! I wish I had thought of using Dwell and Nantucket Summer (instead of hoarding it) your blocks are awesome! I’m loving Sun Washed, it’s perfect for this quilt too.

I just love the fussy cutting you’ve done on these gorgeous blocks. Dwell is making up so nicely. Ahhhhh, and sweet Tiggs making an appearance is just icing on the cake.

Just finished this beautiful quilt and pieced back. Are there other suggestions for the pattern to use for the long arm? Besides the arched pattern shown? Can’t wait to have it all finished! Great pattern and fabric. Looked forward to sewing it every day!

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
