Free Scrappy Tulip Block PDF Pattern

It’s a scrappy, surprise free block pattern. =)  It was time for another Scrappy Irish Chain quilt block progress report.  And I decided to release another free scrap busting quilt block pattern.  It’s a two for one today because I also wrote up the Scrappy Heart block pattern, that I shared the instructions for verbally in February, into a written pattern.

You can hear all about my Scrappy Irish Chain block progress and new Scrappy Tulip Block in today’s YouTube video.  Plus, leave me a comment over on YouTube (it helps the video get seen if you like/comment on YouTube) with any block suggestions for future scrappy block releases.  They’ve been fun to share!

This is the third, scrappy block in this series.  We started with the Scrappy Heart block:

Now available to download here:  Scrappy Heart Block PDF Pattern

Next up, we had the Scrappy Clover Block:

And the newest block in this series is the Scrappy Tulip block:

It’s such a sunshine-y, happy block! =)  My scrap baskets are always overflowing with yellow fabrics.  This is a great block to use some of them up.  Although, it would be so pretty to make a whole garden of colorful tulips!

Download the Scrappy Tulip block PDF pattern here.

Just like the other scrappy blocks in this series, the Scrappy Tulip block creates a very pretty pattern when the blocks are placed side by side:

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend! Corey

Thank for sharing another scrappy block. I think mixing these blocks or making a tulip garden quilt would cheer up others. I help make quilts for our church for those who are sick or living in nursing homes or assisted living. I think I’ll be adding some of these blocks for those quilts or a wall hanging.

I’d like one for each month. I agree with the others about flags, stars, firecrackers etc. I was thinking a snowflake, tree, pumpkin, leaf, truck, etc, etc. So that each month is somehow represented. I like them because you can make three blocks and have a mini table runner. What fun!!!! Thanks for making the heart into a pattern. I love to reference back to patterns

  10. What a great block Corey, thank you. Tulips 🌷 are one of my favorite flowers besides daffodils. Both were all over our yard growing up in NE Ohio. Unfortunately neither grow here in San Diego so I buy them every year.
I love Michelle Comb’s scrappy firecracker block idea 🇺🇸 🧨 and know you can come up with a great one.

Thanks for the fun. I would like to see 12 scrappy blocks and each one representing a month. Like the heart for February, Tulip for either april or may, 4 leaf clover for March. I think that would make a really cute quilt.

I love that your scrappy blocks showcase the seasons/holidays of the year. At the end of 2023, I will have quilts, table runners, and pillow covers galore! Thank you for this!!

  32. Laura K says:

This scrappy tulip is so darling! I think I will make a quilt using your scrappy block patterns! I just inherited an entire sewing room of fabric, embroidery machines, sewing machines, serger and so much more. I was overwhelmed with all the fabric. First I was worried with where in the world I was going to put it all and what I was going to sew with it. Problem solved. I will make a ton of scrappy quilts. My aunt was a sewer, not much on quilting so she didn’t have lines of fabric but odds and ends of fabric! Thank you for sharing your free quilt block patterns as well as free quilt patterns! Love love love your blog and You Tube channel.

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
