Home Run Pillow Class & Sewcialites
Good morning friends from sunny Ohio. I have a couple different things to share with you today.
First up, block number 3 of our Sewcialites sew along has been released. The name of it is Affection and it’s designed by Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic. You will find the free block pattern available here. And this is what the block will look like in the 3 different sizes, 9″, 6″, and 3″.
These are the blocks that Kimberly of Fat Quarter Shop made. Because I don’t need quite all of the blocks that are being released for my quilt, I am skipping some of the trickier ones with more piecing. This is definitely one of the more intricate ones of the bunch…especially in the 3″ size like I am making. This would be a great block to break out your triangle paper!
The next thing I wanted to share with all of you is the online class I am teaching for my Home Run pillow. You can see a version at the top of the page made using Apricot & Ash (which if you missed out on this summer is being reprinted and will be available again this month–I wouldn’t wait to purchase it because I expect it to sell out quickly again). And the red/pink version directly above is made using Sugarcreek.
This class begins next week, October 14, and is a 6 lesson class. During this online class, I will be teaching about how to choose your fabrics, cutting & piecing, applique, hand quilting, and machine binding. You will really learn a little bit of everything!
If you’d like to sign up for the class and for additional information be sure to visit the class page here. This is such a fun way to take a class when we can’t get out to our favorite shops and sew together in person. I’d love to have you visit my studio and learn with me from the comfort of your home!
Be back later and have a wonderful weekend! (We are celebrating the 12th birthday of my youngest today so it’s sure to be a fun one!) =) Corey
Your pillow is so pretty! Love the fabrics.
Thank you so much!
Is this class at a specific time or can you access it any time.
There will be two classes released every Wednesday starting the 14th for 3 weeks, for a total of 6 classes. They will be available to watch at your convenience.
Is there a way to get the fabric requirements so I can be ready when the class start? I just ordered today (10/9/2020).
I will be going over the supplies as well as my suggestions in the first class so you might find it helpful to wait until after the first class to purchase your supplies. And I have some additional suggestions for supplies to have on hand that aren’t included in with the fabric requirements that I go over as well.
I was born and raised in Ohio and every time I go back to visit, {I now live in Montana} I visit Amish Country. I love seeing your photos of the area. Thanks for sharing your beautiful quilting and photos.
Thank you so much!–I’m so glad to share with all of you. =)
Happy Birthday, Elonie!! My dad’s 80th birthday is tomorrow, so we will be celebrating too. 🙂
Well Happy Birthday from the Yoders!
