I had No Idea
I had no idea of the extent of my quilting bee addiction! Just look at all of those blocks up there–they are all from 2010 quilting bees….heavens to betsy…but wait, there’s more….
Good grief—that is 72 blocks–I couldn’t even fit them all into one picture–I had to split them up. And if you think this is bad….
Yes, that’s right…they wouldn’t even fit into 2 pictures–I had to add a 3rd. I know I love myself a good quilting bee but I never sat down and looked at them all at once. It is quite crazy! I certainly never feel like I am rushed and just don’t have enough time for everything. I take my time–make good use of nap time and quiet time in the evenings after the girls are in bed and of course weekends when hubby is home. I do find I can get a lot more done when my 5 year old is in Kindy–she goes 2 or 3 times a week depending on the week. I never realized how much time I can spend refereeing in a day. =)
I have cut back on my bees(and I’m cutting back a little bit more in 2011)–there will never be another 2010. =) I have some other projects that I wanted time to work on that I’ll share later & of course Birdie Stitches which I’m super excited about. I think 2011 has a lot of possibilities! =)
That’s a lot of blocks! Slow and steady wins the race. 🙂 You were a busy lady in 2010! I’m looking forward to your Birdie Stitches and have posted your button in my sidebar.
Wowee, that is impressive! I am honored that you’re keeping up the do. Good Stitches bee. We’re so glad to have you!
Wow! There is so much great inspiration in your bee blocks from this last year. Thanks for posting the mosaics!
Very impressive, Corey! It’s been fun being in the Red and Aqua bee with you!
Good grief girl, but you were one busy mama!! I love how your blocks turned out even though it looks like too much work for me! I’m not sure I would be so generous to make all that and send it away! I am looking forward to Birdie Stitches and will be steering my quilting group toward doing it as well. I’m having trouble deciding on which fabrics to use though, a good problem to have!
Wow. I’m completely impressed. Especially since I just did a blog post on how I got virtually NOTHING done in 2010. But you have been extremely inspiring for me and I’m totally excited about Birdie Stitches. Let 2011 begin!
Whew – you were a busy lady. Love the photo collage(s) – a great way to show your work.
Hugs – Marie
Good grief lady! I dd 3 bees And could not keep up, hats off to you!
I knew there was a reason I had so many of your blocks in my favorites. 😉
Gorgeous!
Pretty amazing productivity! I am very much looking forward to Little Birdie Stitches!
Yikes! What a year in quilting bees: beautiful blocks!
WOW!!! You have been a truly ‘busy bee’! Way to go, I am so inspired to do better in 2011! This year was a very slow quilting year for me. Health issues, an emergency surgery and not having a sewing room didn’t help. BUT…a few weeks ago I finally set up my own sewing room, well, with lots of help from DH. (We had to put a few plans on hold when we found ourselves raisin our two oldest grandsons, but after 13 years, we are now, truly empty nesters and loving it). We have been in a remodel mess since the day after Thanksgiving but it is coming together now. We aren’t exactly remodeling…just giving our 35 year old home a little ‘face lift’. Plus adding a wonderful new oak banister and railing so that I don’t have to grab my cane every time I want to go down stairs. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. We will be all finished except some painting and staining that my DH will work on but by the end of January, everything will be back in it’s place and I can already hear my sewing room calling to me. So 2011 promises to be a much more productive year. (Gosh, I hope so! This year I finished only one quilt, a few table toppers and a couple of bags.) I did get some great stitcheries done for quilt blocks while I was recuperating from surgery though…see, there is a wonderfully bright side to everything, even those thing that seem awful at the time, have a bright side if you just turn it this way and that until you find it!!! Hugs…
I love the bat block! What is that from??
