In the Garden Collector’s Bin & Chickadee Quilt Block Tutorial

Today’s video includes an In the Garden Collector’s bin unboxing as well as a Chickadee quilt block tutorial.

You probably all know what the Chickadee quilt block is…it’s our February $5 pattern. I had a couple questions about the difficulty level of this block as well as a request for a tutorial. You’ll find the tutorial in today’s video.

But what you might not know about or have heard about is the In the Garden Collector’s Bin which I am also chatting about today.

Moda has started creating project bins featuring a specific fabric line and goodies curated by the fabric designer. I had the fun of putting together and choosing just the right things for an In the Garden bin.

Each of these project boxes includes an exclusive precut (a size not seen out in the wild), an exclusive quilt pattern (designed just for you by the designer), and a bunch of other exclusive goodies.

Last summer, I chose all of the fun things to add to the In the Garden bin. In today’s video, I am unboxing and chatting about all of the things that I chose to include. I waited to open the box with all of you and it was so much fun to see everything in real life! The project bins are carried in quilt shops (locally and online).

I hope you enjoy watching! Corey

Good to hear from you. It’s been a while. Hope you winter is going well. NC hasn’t been too ba, but we did have snow, especially in the mountains and north of Raleigh.

Hi, Corey. I received your project box last week and dived right into its lovely contents. I drive myself half crazy arranging and rearranging blocks for a final quilt setting, so still finishing my quilt top from the 2025 sew-along. However, I want to make the quilt in the project box as soon as I can get to it so it is presently sitting on a small table just to the left of my sewing table waiting for my attention. Couldn’t resist the Chickadee pattern, either, so there’s another new project to pull fabrics for and of course I will participate in this year’s sew-along as well. You inspire me all the time with your fabrics and patterns. So many good things! Be well and be blessed.
