Moda All Stars Mini Charm Quilts Giveaway

Welcome Friends!–Today, we are celebrating the release of another wonderful Moda All-Stars compilation book.

I love these Moda All-Stars books because they bring together so many different Moda designers and so many fun projects.  The new Mini Charm Quilts book features quilts and projects specifically designed to use those adorable mini charm squares–those 2 1/2″ ones that you just seem to pick up and purchase as soon as you spot them because they are so cute!

My project in the book is this fun little journal cover.  I like having a great journal cover pattern on hand because it’s one of my go to handmade gift items.  They fit right over a composition book–the standard sized ones you can pick up just about anywhere–usually for under a dollar.

This pattern, uses 3 mini charm packs plus a bit of yardage & I used a mix of my collections for a wonderfully scrappy look.

There are a lot of other really great projects in the book.  I love this little pincushion by Laurie Simpson:

And this pillow by Brenda Riddle is so pretty! (We all know I am a pillow gal!):

And of course, what is a mini charm book without mini quilts!–so many great mini quilt patterns in the book.  I was drawn right away to this one by Anne Sutton–I must have Christmas on my mind.  Really, if we can make it to Spring I will be happy. =)

GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED, THE WINNER IS COMMENT #3 Pat H.

And now to the giveaway part!  Martingale and Moda fabrics have been wonderful to sponsor a giveaway for my readers.  And, I have up for grabs an e-book of Mini Charm Quilts and a set of Pepper & Flax mini charms.  These aren’t yet in stores and I know some of you have been itching to get your hands on Pepper & Flax! =)

To enter to win, comment  with how you store your mini charms.   I store mine in an old time Candy Jar–the kind you would have seen holding penny candy years ago.  I found it at an antique store and it’s just perfect for all of my mini charms.

I will choose a winner on Monday.  You can read more about the book on the Martingale site as well as enter for an awesome giveaway.  And you can see all of the designers participating in fun giveaway’s on Lissa’s site.  So be sure to stop by both!

Good luck!

I store them in a little ol tin that originally had some delicious Scottish shortbread in it.

I am afraid I am not very imaginative storing my mini charms. When I first purchase them it is often to see if I really like a whole collection and want to purchase larger pre-cuts or yardage. If I decide to purchase more the mini charms are stored with the larger precuts and yardage. If I decide not to purchase more, the mini charms are stored in a Tupperware container. My mini charms are in a floral bowl in the cupboard with my other precuts. Of course, you can’t see the floral design due to the mini charms overflowing the bowl — lol.

I haven’t bought any mini charms yet but my 2.5″ and smaller scrap I toss in a small pink rectangle fabric bin that fits perfectly in my little bookcase/cabinet. 209. Paige says:

I only have 3 mini charm packs but I currently have them laid out in a long narrow pretty green glass dish that was my grandmother’s. I’m not sure what it was originally supposed to be use for but, my grandmother kept it on her kitchen windowsill lined with her collection of hand painted Polish eggs. So, I have it lined with my mini-charm packs and 4 of her eggs on my sewing table.
