Moda All Stars Mini Charm Quilts Giveaway
Welcome Friends!–Today, we are celebrating the release of another wonderful Moda All-Stars compilation book.
I love these Moda All-Stars books because they bring together so many different Moda designers and so many fun projects. The new Mini Charm Quilts book features quilts and projects specifically designed to use those adorable mini charm squares–those 2 1/2″ ones that you just seem to pick up and purchase as soon as you spot them because they are so cute!
My project in the book is this fun little journal cover. I like having a great journal cover pattern on hand because it’s one of my go to handmade gift items. They fit right over a composition book–the standard sized ones you can pick up just about anywhere–usually for under a dollar.
This pattern, uses 3 mini charm packs plus a bit of yardage & I used a mix of my collections for a wonderfully scrappy look.
There are a lot of other really great projects in the book. I love this little pincushion by Laurie Simpson:
And this pillow by Brenda Riddle is so pretty! (We all know I am a pillow gal!):
And of course, what is a mini charm book without mini quilts!–so many great mini quilt patterns in the book. I was drawn right away to this one by Anne Sutton–I must have Christmas on my mind. Really, if we can make it to Spring I will be happy. =)
GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED, THE WINNER IS COMMENT #3 Pat H.
And now to the giveaway part! Martingale and Moda fabrics have been wonderful to sponsor a giveaway for my readers. And, I have up for grabs an e-book of Mini Charm Quilts and a set of Pepper & Flax mini charms. These aren’t yet in stores and I know some of you have been itching to get your hands on Pepper & Flax! =)
To enter to win, comment with how you store your mini charms. I store mine in an old time Candy Jar–the kind you would have seen holding penny candy years ago. I found it at an antique store and it’s just perfect for all of my mini charms.
I will choose a winner on Monday. You can read more about the book on the Martingale site as well as enter for an awesome giveaway. And you can see all of the designers participating in fun giveaway’s on Lissa’s site. So be sure to stop by both!
Good luck!
I don’t have any mini charms currently but I love your idea of putting them in a candy jar to show off their cuteness!
I store mine on a small shelf in my Tax & Accounting office as a reminder of what’s to come after tax filing season is over! $!
I store mine in a plastic storage box…not as cute as your candy jar, (hey, I just got it..candy mini charm packs stored in a candy jar😅). I need to find another storage solution because my box is overflowing.
I too love these mini charms! I usually use them to make the Mondo tote bag but I would love to have more ideas for them! Mine are stored in a little (old) mixing bowl that I took from my MIL’s kitchen. Makes me smile when I see it and reminds me of her and all her baking I loved.
I don’t have any yet, but I would display them on my sewing table.
I have never purchased a pack of mini charms because I always prewash and could not imagine prewashing 2″ squares. Still, they would be nice to have to make little projects. If I had any, I would store them in the new plastic storage container I won last week at my guild meeting!
I only have one so far. But I have the perfect storage place for more. And there will be more. I have a lovely small wooden crate. I would roll them up and stand them in it. One o woyld drape across a corner.
ThNks for the chance to win.
Dagmar
I store them in a Rubbermaid container but a glass jar would be prettier!
I store my mini charms in a tin. I wish our local quilt shops would carry more of them
I see I NEED to get me another new book as I love mini charms and they are stored in one of my late Mother-In-Laws gallon jugs….. Your journal cover is adorable and Mic says, :Mom–ya gotta get on it and make a bunch so I can give as gifts!!” Whoa girl, me thinks YOU need to start sewing!! 🙂
I store my mini charms in a clear plastic tote. I use them frequently for making pincushions, small bags and other quick sew gifts.

I have just started quilting so haven’t stored any yet. But would love to win! Am getting really hooked!
I actually have mine in a candy jar, too. They are starting to outgrow my jar. I need a book like this to get more ideas to use them.
Now I know what to do with those mini charms! Thank you!
I store my mini charms in a clear plastic box, but your candy jar idea is so much cuter! I can’t wait to get a copy of the book. Thanks for the giveaway.

I have a few mini charms and I recently organized my stash. These jewels got a special Mason Jar all their own. I would be so excited to add a Pepper and Flax stack to the mix!
I love to look at my charm squares in recycled sweetner containers with snap lids. The jars hold the charms neatly and I can put them up on shelf above my sewing machine for inspiration!
I love to make scrappy anything. But, this love is fairly new. So, I don’t have a huge collection … yet 🙂 Right now, I store them on a shelf in my “hobby” closet. I see them at eye level as soon as I open the closet door – along with my other quilting materials. I love to open that door 🙂
I only have 3 or 4 mini charms. They are currently stored with my regular charm packs in a small plastic basket which is kept until my cutting cupboard.
I store mine on my childhood dresser where I can admire them while I am ironing.
I am anxiously awaiting your Pepper & Flax line so I would LOVE to win some mini charms. I currently store my mini charms in an old glass front library bookcase.
I’ve actually never tried the mini charms because I wasn’t sure what to do with them. I guess if I win the book I’ll need to snap some up and figure out how to store them. Maybe in one of the half-gallon Mason jars I have. Dust-free, but pretty.
Mine are in a plastic storage box in alphabetical order and meticulously inventoried on an excel spread sheet, in the event that I might actually use them. 😉
I’m not so fancy. I only currently have four and they are stacked on a shelf in my sewing room where I can easily admire them.
I don’t have any mini charms (yet)..after seeing this post…I know that I need to go “shopping”! Love the ideas for them & I have a large old Mason jar that I can store them in till they get used!
I have mine in a drawer, along with 5 inch squares and other “small pieces”…ok,
not neatly stored….but they do get used. Love love scrappy quilts!
I store them in an antique bowl but they don’t last too long. Great for quick gifts or in between projects.
I don’t have any mini charms, but all my scraps are stored in Sterlite plastic boxes, mostly by color but there are some exceptions! Love the projects shown in your post.
I have a drawer where I keep my pre-cuts. I don’t have a huge collection so my little drawer works just great.

All my fabric is stored in glass door cabinets so I can appreciate it whenever I please. Love this project book, is it in stores yet?

I store mine in a red and white cookie jar! Love your journal cover!
I’m a beginner quilter and don’t have any mini charms yet and I only have a few books. Would love to win! Thank you for the opportunity!
I store my mini charms in a basket along with Charm Packs. Having a variety of little fabrics handy for a quick gift helps create a unique project. I, too, make journal covers and they seem to be enjoyed by the recipients. Love your fabrics, Corey. clara-chandler@att.net
I don’t have any mini charms yet. This book will definitely change that! I already have the perfect glass barrel jar to store them in.
I store them in an old cage for eggs.
I store them together with the normal charm packs.
I only have a few so far but store them in a Longaberger basket ready for pending projects… Anxiously awaiting your Pepper & Flax!!
I like your idea – currently, mine are in a little fabric zipper bag. I think I’ll look for a big jar! p.s. I’m working on Cake Mix quilt using Sundrops! Can’t wait to finish it.
I have been waiting, impatiently, for Pepper and Flax! Beautiful! I store my 6 mini charms in a plastic container, boring I know, lol
I love mini charm collections! It’s the perfect way to sample fabrics and get a great project started! I store mine in a pretty wire basket that is perfect for browsing through them!
I don’t have any yet, but displaying them in a glass jar sounds great.
I store my mini charms in an old candy jar that I was given by my Mother in Law. It was from a general store she lived by.
I have mine in a pretty basket where I can see them and touch them!
I love mini charms, but unfortunately don’t have a ‘collection’. I buy them to tuck into gifts for sewing friends, or with a project in mind. I guess I really should buy some just for me to admire -and a glass jar sounds like the perfect way to display/admire them. 🙂 Thanks for the fun!
Mine are in a plastic tub, waiting to turn into a quilt. I have enough for a pretty large one, but must decide on the design.
I store mine in a small vintage wooden shelf and just love the look!
I store my mini charm packs in a lovely old stationery box that’s covered in a beautiful floral print paper. Makes opening the box to my favorite mini charm packs such a delight!
I store mine in an open box, so I can admire them.
I need to win so I’ll have some mini charm packs to store in something. This looks like a wonderful book!
I store mine on a little tiny shelf/cubby in my IKEA shelving unit.
I store my mini squares in a candy tin but I don’t have a lot of mini charms that I haven’t used. I need to find a better choice-I need a sewing room or space

Would love to win some of your new mini charm fabric, so cute. Thanks
I love mini charms! I store mine in a plastic Velveeta container turned upside down. It’s the perfect size! I never used it for the cheese. The bottom part never stayed on tightly and I almost threw it away. So glad I kept it.
I store mine in a pretty porcelain bowl that was my grandmothers.
on a book case with their own shelf
Love your candy jar storing idea. Also love your new line of fabric. I store my little eye candy on a shelf stacked up.
My mini charms are stored in an adorable tin that looks like a merry-go-round. It makes me happy to see the tin and know it’s my little secret hiding place for them! And yes! I am dying to get my hands on some Pepper and Flax!
Mini charms are in a bag in a drawer, so they don’t get lost.
I keep mine in ball jars!
I put mine in a drawer!
Right now in a pouch but I love you idea!
I keep mine in several tins on a shelf in my sewing room.
I have several mini charm packs but they are so dang cute, I hardly ever use them. Sometimes I put a square or two into something I need a bit of color in but mostly I use them to make a trim around my quilt labels. I store them in a little ol tin that originally had some delicious Scottish shortbread in it.
I try to organize mine in a bin, but I have to remove them one at a time to find the one I’m looking for. I need a new system!
I try not to buy more fabric than I have projects for…and so far it’s worked!! Though I did add in a mini charm to an order to hit the free shipping threshold. So it’s in my fabric box waiting patiently for me to get to it 🙂
I store them in a clear plastic container.
I store mine in a metal shadow box style wall unit. I love seeing all the different lines, I do need some great new ideas to start using some of these. Love your scrappy notebook cover.

I keep mine in a plastic storage box, but I’m thinking your idea sounds great!! Time to go shopping!!
I store mini-charms in a plastic bag – I don’t have very many. I do have a lot of charm packs and I store them in clear plastic boxes and even use them often.
I have a cute aqua wire basket that sits on a shelf holding other small sewing knick knacks. That way I can see all of them at once.
Mine are stored in a clear shoe box…or two…or three!
I have a vintage bubble gum machine. My children are long gone so I would keep my mini – charms in that. The top is easy to remove so that I can get to them. Also, the mini – charms would be visible. I have never made anything with pieces that small, but would love to try some projects with pre-cuts.
Sincerely,
alice g
I only have 2 right now and they are sitting on my sewing room on a shelf by some favorite fabrics. I have several glass storage jars for scraps, ribbon, buttons, and rolled fat quarters and eighths.
Mine are just put away together in a drawer. All of my sewing things are either in some drawers or under my bed, the sewing machine live sin the hallway. In y dreams I have a beautiful sewing room where everything is stored beautifully. x
I have a lot of baskets, both antique and newer. My mini charms live in several of the smaller ones.
My minis just hang out with my charms in a plastic storage drawer.
I don’t have many mini-charms but the few I have sit stacked neatly in my fabric cabinet. They’re too cute to use.🙈
I do seem to have an obsession with mini charms. The price is right and the fabric collections are gorgeous. I don’t like to break them open so I stack them on a shelf where I can see them and tell myself not to buy any more! This new book would be an incentive to use the mini charm packs I have and then buy more!
I only have a few, and they’re in my precuts box. If I get enough they’ll end up in a milk glass vase I bought at Goodwill.
I don’t have many mini charms yet, I’m more of a layer cake type of gal!! Would love the chance to win and the journal cover pattern may make me buy this book if I don’t win!!
I only have one. It’s in a drawer. I need to get more & start displaying!
I store mine in a big basket with a lot of other precuts that I had to buy even though I had no project in mind for them! My daughter, daughter-in-law, and I all quilt, and it’s sort of our inspiration/motivation stash!
I store my mini charms in a drawer at the bottom of a glass curio cabinet that holds my fabrics. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity. Thanks. elanagoldberg5@gmail.com

I keep mine under a glass dome covered cake stand 😊
I have a cute little basket I throw them in…but I’m ready for this book because my basket is full!
I store mine in a ziploc bag nice and flat then they go into my fabric drawer.
I only have one mini which is in a drawer. That’s why I need to win this give away!
I am afraid I am not very imaginative storing my mini charms. When I first purchase them it is often to see if I really like a whole collection and want to purchase larger pre-cuts or yardage. If I decide to purchase more the mini charms are stored with the larger precuts and yardage. If I decide not to purchase more, the mini charms are stored in a Tupperware container. I need to up my game. I love the candy jar idea. You are so right about Pepper and Flax. I can’t wait. Thanks for offering the giveaway.
I store mine in a cute cookie tin. I got a handful for Christmas and just decided to keep them in the tin they were given to me in!
Hmm I like the idea of an old time candy jar. Mine are currently in a plastic shoe box. You idea looks better than mine. I have made a couple of mini quilts with the mini charms. My granddaughter thinks that all mini charms should be hers since she is seven and small things must belong to a small girl so I have lost many charm packs to her.
The journal cover and pin cushion are wonderful. Minis are going to go on my next quilting must-have list.
I store all mine in stacks on my shelf space next to all of my charm packs. Love using them for decorative pillows.
I have a set of clear drawers that I keep charms and mini charms in. The candy dish sounds like a fun idea!
I haven’t been buying the mini-charms, but I’ve been seeing such good ideas, like this book, that I’m going to start! A glass jar is a good idea, or a mini-basket.
Mine are in my “to do” basket at the moment while I try to figure out how I’d like to use them, so this book would be perfect! I love making little zipper pouches with them- a cute, quick gift!
I store my mini charms in a cute photo box so they are always ready to travel to retreats with me. It is almost full so it will be time for another one soon! You can’t have too many mini charm packs right?!
I have the cutest round cardboard box with a primitive little bird painted on the top perfect for the mini charms.
I have a cute wire basket on my shelf holding some precuts but sadly no mini charms. Going to invest in some after seeing this cute collection of patterns!
I store all my squares in sock boxes.
I store all of my favorite precuts in an older cabinet from my mom. I love just opening the doors and looking at them!
My yearly quilt planner I’m trying to use this year needs you book cover! Would love to try some of these patterns in your fabric! 💟 And so fabelous where the book proceeds are going!
Funny you should mention it…I acquired a glass candy jar at Christmas time and was thinking of storing sewing related items in it. Why not fabric???

I have them on front edge of a shelf below my cutting table.
I have an old JP Coats display box for embroidery floss. The divisions are just the right side for lining up mini charm packs.
I keep my mini charms in a distressed red iron basket. I love the book and the fact that proceeds go to charity. I especially hope to win the Pepper and Flax mini charms. I just love that fabric line!
Oh my word! I love this. I don’t have any mini charms. I was away from the quilting world for a few years. They are just too cute!

I store all of my fabric in a large hutch with glass doors on the upper half—this is where I keep my yardage quilt fabrics—and drawers beneath—one for fat quarters, one for regular sewing fabrics and the top shallow drawer is where I keep my charms and mini charms. What a fun book!
I don’t have any many charms, but I store my quilt fabrics in a plastic storage container. I like the candy jar idea.
I store mine in a drawer with all my other precuts. I ‘d love to leave them out but my sewing room is just a little too sunny, and I can’t have them being faded! Love them too much for that to happen!
My mini charms are in a floral bowl in the cupboard with my other precuts. Of course, you can’t see the floral design due to the mini charms overflowing the bowl — lol.
I have been collecting them for quite a while, they are stored in an antique wooden bowl I have on my long antique wooden table that was my father’s and it is quite a few years old and whenever I sit down to sew, he is there watching me do my special sewing project.
I don’t store them. I use them as fast as I buy them. Sometimes ideas faster then I have them.
My mini-charm packs are stacked on a shelf. How fun it would be to add Pepper & Flax to the top! Or, it would be even more fun to make some of the projects in this beautiful book with those cute little gems!
I store my mini’s in a rolling cart drawer. They’re just so darn cute!
I keep mine in a Ziploc box. It would be great to win!!!
I only have a couple that I keep in a basket . It would be great to have ideas on how to use them.

I love this book. Thanks for the giveaway. I like to put out my mini charms on my shelves in my sewing room. Cutest decoration ever!
I store mine in a fabric cupboard with two small stacks of charm packs . Someday I dream of sewing them together into something!
All of the projects on the cover and the ones you have shown are so cute! I store my charms in an empty box of chocolates. They are such a treat, that I barely miss the chocolate!
I keep my mini charms in a clear plastic box along with my charm packs.
I keep all my minis displayed in a open drawer in my sewing room so I can look at them all the time. I’m way excited for this book!
Some are in a wire basket and some in a longaberger basket. Love the quilts made out of the charm packs!
I have a little set of drawers behind my sewing machine. One of those drawers is for mini charms and fat eighths.
Mine are just on the closet shelf!
I don’t have any mini charms right now but the book and your description of some of the projects has the wheels turning in my brain. I have some cute shelves in my sewing room with clear fronts that I think they would fit in perfectly.
Mine are in a plastic shoebox but I don’t have very many. I need to start collecting more.
I have mine I a drawer all stacked together by collections/designer!!
My cute minis are in a vintage-looking, onion shaped, slightly tinted jar with a wooden top! And, it holds a lot! Love it & those minis!
I store on shelving in tubs. I love your project!
I’m guilty, a plain and simple plastic storage bin. I have a sewing corner that is bursting at the seams. I just purchased 3 more mini charms that are yet to be put with the others… slacking big time!
I used to have mine in a candy jar, also. Then i recieved the cutest little rectangle box that they fit in perfectly. So that is where I store them today and I like that they are stacked so neat and pretty in it. Love our journal cover!
I store my Mini Charms in a recipe box. All neat and tidy in pairs waiting for the perfect recipe to use them in :). I would love to hold those adorable Pepper & Flax Mini Charms in my hands. I cannot wait to see this line in person. I am in love with it and your new patterns ever since I first saw them in pictures from Market. Thanks for sharing with us!
I have mine in a plastic bin. Ot as fancy as some, but it works for me 😉
I store mine on a shelf next to my sewing machine so I can look at them frequently and be thinking of new projects! 😍

The photos from this book look delightful! I have some mini charms stored in a plastic pencil box. Thanks for the chance to win!
I store mine in a tin box that I bought and didn’t have a use for. However, I can’t see in it, and love looking at the pretties it contains!!
I only have two mini charms and they are both P.I.G.S. (projects in grocery sacks) I couldn’t find a pattern I liked for them. Looks like my problem has been solved.
I do not have a lot of minicharms, only two and they are in a tray at the moment. But I would love to see the book to get inspiration to use them.
I store my mini charm packs in a small basket on a shelf in my sewing area. Thank you for the opportunity to win .💟
I store mine in a plastic shoe bin! I have bins for each precut I order with the tag on the outside and pattern ideas in the bin as well! I probably have around 100 bins, I don’t want to count!!!
I have owned only one mini charm pack, and I used it to make a pillow, so I have not needed to find a storage spot. But of course I would not mind owning more — especially of your beautiful fabric!
I don’t have a lot of mini charms so they just live in with the regular charm packs in plastic shoe boxes. Love your project, so cute!
I have a cutlery tray that the fit perfectly in!
I love my mini charm packs! I made a large (LARGE!!) basket of coiled rope, zig-zagged together in colorful (end of cone) quilting threads. Thank you for the give away and the chance to win ♥️
I only have a couple of mini charm packs and they are in a clear plastic container with my charm packs.
I store my mini charm packs in a glass cookie jar.
Right now, its a plastic crate from the Dollar Tree. I’m working on sophisticating my storage methods for my fabric. I love the idea of a glass jar, but maybe acrylic.
Geez, I am sad to say that I have my mini charm packs in a ziplock baggie, stashed in a drawer.
They’re the first thing I see when I open the drawer.
I like your way of storing them way better!
I am afraid mine gather dust on the shelf. I collect candy or cookie boxes though for small items!
Ooooooooh I usually store mine on the shelf but you gave me an idea, I’m off to look for a jar I have put away while I figured out its purpose. 😊💕
I keep some of them in plastic containers but my great grandma would keep them in old card boxes, puzzle boxes or anything she could find. She was very careful to reuse things and I still use those boxes to this day because they remind me of her.
i store them with my charm packs in one of those pretty boxes from Joann’s. That way I can find them when I need too! 🙂 Can’t wait for your Petter and Flax!! Such lovely colors!!
Love to use charm packs and store mine in a wire basket so I can see them….always easy to get at too!
I keep mine in a candy jar as well. See through and beautiful.
I keep mine in a pretty, decorated box. I open it and look at them every now and then, and wonder what to make. Now I have some ideas! Great book, and love your journal cover.
My little hoard of mini charms is in a sweet fabric basket made by a great quilty friend!
I don’t have any mini charms! I love looking at them but was always at a loss for how I would use them and didn’t want to impulse buy just because they were cute (What is wrong with me???). If I won, I would definitely try the notebook cover, though. I have seen those and have always wanted to try one.
My mini charms are stored in zip lock bags by color and placed in a linen bucket.
I haven’t started collecting mini-charms yet but with this book, Now I see the possibilities. Would love to store them in an old short, wide-mouthed canning jar with a hinged lid that I have. Easy to get into!
I have them in a drawer with all of the other precuts!
I don’t have any mini charms– if I want to use 2.5 in squares i cut them from charms which I store in plastic baskets in my fabric armoire
I haven’t bought any mini charms yet but my 2.5″ and smaller scrap I toss in a small pink rectangle fabric bin that fits perfectly in my little bookcase/cabinet. I like to use fabric bins and small Rubbermaid containers with lids for my sewing and quilting tools and fabric scraps. And I really like the idea of a journal cover! I’m going to have to add that to my list of things to try to make!!!
I store mine in a clear thru shoe box container. But I’ve never used mini charms.
Mine are just stacked on the counter now. Love the idea of a candy jar!
The only one I have sits on my sewing table to remind me I need to do something with them.
I just store mine on a shelf so I can walk by and pet them ever so often…….they are kinda like eye candy to me….but if I could win the book, I know I would have to go thru the pile and take some to the sewing machine…..darling journal cover!
I just keep mine in a little pile that I often look at but I love your idea of storing them in a jar.
I don’t usually keep them long enough to store them. I do love your idea of storing them in an antique candy jar though. And I really do love your new line, Pepper and Flax!
I don’t have any to store yet.
I clean up glass candle jars with lids once I’m done with the candle. I use these to store key rings, suspender/paci clips, buttons. and of course, all my mini charm packs. I love to look over and see all the beautiful charms sitting side by side. It’s like patchwork for your shelf! Thanks for the chance!
I only have 3 mini charm packs but I currently have them laid out in a long narrow pretty green glass dish that was my grandmother’s. I’m not sure what it was originally supposed to be use for but, my grandmother kept it on her kitchen windowsill lined with her collection of hand painted Polish eggs. So, I have it lined with my mini-charm packs and 4 of her eggs on my sewing table.
