Moda Blockheads Round 5: Celeste Block & video on spinning & nesting seams

Isn’t that a pretty little block for today’s Moda Blockheads block?  It is brought to us by Laurie Simpson of Minick & Simpson.

You’ll find the free block pattern here.

For my block this week, I wanted to focus a bit more on the coral shades in the fabrics I’m using.  That little white with coral flowers from Peachy Keen that I used for the background is a favorite of mine.  I think it’s very pretty in this block.

Here is what my block looks like on the back:

I spun my seams on those QSTs and made sure everything nested nicely as I was piecing the block. The border on this block is the same border that I used for my setting on the last round of Moda Blockheads.  See how those QSTs come together in my setting?:

When I shared this layout, I also filmed a video showing how to spin and nest the seams when we have QSTs coming together in this manner.  That video is the same approach I used when piecing & pressing the QSTs for our block today.  If you’d like to watch it, you can catch it here.

Above, you can see what all of my blocks look like so far. =)  Have fun sewing your block today and have a wonderful Wednesday! Corey
