Sunny Patches BOM: Sunny Ohio Star Block & Quilt Top Finishing

It’s the last block in our Sunny Patches BOM!  This has been such a fun BOM to host and I hope that you have all enjoyed sewing along.  Wait until you see my Beautiful Day quilt top finish a little bit later in this post!  It turned out so pretty.  I can’t wait to get all of my Sunwashed blocks sewn together also.

As you might have guessed from that first photo, our final block is a Sunny Ohio Star block.  You know I love an Ohio Star.  This one with that small Ohio Star center is so sweet.

You can download the Sunny Ohio Star block pattern here.

Once all of your Sunny Patches blocks are complete, this quilt top sews together so quickly.  There is no additional sashing to cut or utilize so it’s a speedy finish.

My Beautiful Day quilt top is going to be such a fun one to snuggle under over the holidays.  I just need to get it quilted!  I haven’t given any thought to the quilting design I plan to use on my quilts.  I’m sure once I start looking, something will jump out at me.

You can download the Sunny Patches finishing instructions here.

As with previous months, we filmed a tutorial video for the Sunny Ohio Star block that you can watch here.

With today’s block, you will have a total of 8 different blocks (the jelly roll blocks plus 7 mystery blocks).  If you are a member of the Coriander Quilts Facebook group, I would love to see your finished Sunny Patches quilts as you all start finishing them. =)

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend! Corey

Thank you for another fun and beautiful sew-along. Seeing the finishing plan really made me smile as I absolutely love friendship star blocks and seeing this come together in big, beautiful stars was a nice surprise. Looking forward to the next great quilting adventure.

OH how cool a Ohio Star within a Ohio Star. I decided to do 2 Blocks each month. 1 block with the more complicated center and 1 block without.
Now to make a Queen + size Quilt. Trying to figure out the added blocks into your finishing. Thank goodness for Design Walls.
Thank You Corey so very much for this free sew a long.

Love this quilt and sew along. Just finishing since I was out of town for the final block. I used Sunnybrook since I had a jelly roll in my stash and luckily founds some yardage to go with. Hoping you have something fun planned next. I’m saving my Peachy Keen!

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
