October $5 Pattern of the Month = Barn Star!

Barn Star in Peachy Keen Fabrics

Before I dive in to today’s blog post, thank you so much for all of your kind comments about Starberry fabrics!  It’s always fun (but a little bit scary) to show new things that have been in the works for over a year.  I always want everyone to love it as much as I do!  So thank you, thank you for so many kind words!  I can’t wait to share more about Starberry fabrics in the upcoming weeks!

Now, moving on! It’s a day early but the October $5 pattern of the month is now on sale. =)  So many of you asked for a Barn Star $5 pattern so here it is!

FYI, the Acorns pattern (the special for September) is still $5 for today (the last day of September!).  Tomorrow, October 1, Acorns will go back to the regular price but Barn Star will be $5 for the whole month of October.

This Barn Star pattern is the first in an ongoing series of Barn Star quilt patterns I have released over the years.  I used Pepper & Flax fabrics for this one.  Buttercup & Slate would be a beautiful option for this quilt if you were interested in recreating Barn Star in a similar color palette.  You can also see at the top of the page, what Barn Star looks like in Peachy Keen fabrics.  PS…I got word that Peachy Keen fabrics have started shipping!  If you missed out on hearing about Peachy Keen, I shared a fabric video about it here and a quilts video about it here.

But now, back to Barn Star! =)  In addition to the Peachy Keen mock-up at the top of the page, I mocked it up using Lighthearted by Camille Roskelley:

As well as Christmas Eve by Lella Boutique:

This gives you an idea of what this quilt would look like in some other currently available fabric options.

Ryan and I also filmed a video showing and chatting about Barn Star that you can watch here.  We also filmed a Barn Star Trunk show last year of the first 5 Barn Star quilts you can watch here.

You’ll find the Barn Star pattern available for $5 in my Etsy shop in either Paper or PDF versions.

Thank you so much for stopping by and enjoy your weekend! Corey

Ah Corey….you know how much I love your Barn Star #1 pattern!!! Can you be sure to mock it up in your new Starberry line when you introduce it more? I’d love to see it in that!!! I spent the last two days just looking at that Starberry line and daydreaming of all the lovely quilts I could make with it. Congrats on what is obviously going to be (yet another) successful line!

That’s a great suggestion to mock it up in Starberry! Thanks so much for your kind comments on Starberry—it was such a fun line to create. =)

I’ve been wanting to try your Barn Star patterns & want to turn one into a wooden version for my house (because I don’t have a barn 😭) and I think this might get me to dive in! I might have over-bought Sunwashed 😊 and this could be a perfect fit for my leftovers.
I don’t know how I’m going to wait until May for Starberry! I love it!

I love the Barn Star Patterns. I have #5 & #6 and will be adding this one to my collection. I also love the Peachy Keen Collection. I ordered two Jolly Bars from Fat Quarter Shop and I received an email that they have been shipped. So excited! I want to make everything in Peachy Keen! I’m pretty sure I’m going to feel the same about the Starberry Collection. You are a very talented designer and I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us.

Love the Barn Star pattern! Do you know the name of the “orange peel” quilting design and where it can be purchased?

    • Corey says:

Thank you! It’s just called Orange Peel…there are quite a few different pantographs with this same design and different spots to purchase it. If you google “orange peel pantograph” you’ll have various options from various designers and shops pop up.

I would love to make this pattern in your peachy keen line. I would like to use a darker background color, however, any suggestions?
