Pinwheel Sampler Quilt Top Finished

Although today is a pretty poor picture taking sort of day, I wanted to snap a couple pics to share my, finally, completed Pinwheel Sampler Quilt Top.  If you’ll remember I was following along with Rachel’s Quilt Along.  The top has actually been complete minus the outer white sashing for several months.  I don’t know why I hate adding borders/sashing but, I always manage to put it off.  That and sewing up backing are probably my two least favorite tasks in making a quilt.
I opted to add the mini pinwheels in the sashing–I like the addition.  I also added in some extra pinwheel blocks so my quilt finishes out a little bit larger than some of the other quilt along quilts.  Hopefully I’ll be able to get some better shots to share with you all soon.  We’ve had bright sunny days for weeks and of course today I decide to finish the quilt and take pictures…figures! =)

Oohh, I love this! The little mini pinwheels are adorable and such a great touch! I too hate doing borders and backings. For me, it's that I don't like working with such large pieces of fabric. Too bulky!

Your quilt top looks great! I haven't worked on mine in so long . . . it's still just a pile of blocks in my WIP bin. I agree – I'm dreading the sashing!
