Round 4 Moda Block Heads: Block 6

Block 6 of Moda Block Heads…Spinning into Spring–Yes!, I think I am ready for Spring!

We had a beautiful weekend and this block couldn’t be more appropriately named (at least here in Ohio!).  Our block this week is brought to us by Linzee Kull McCray.  You’ll find the PDF for today’s block on the Moda blog.

This block was a straightforward block to piece.  I cut the squares for my HST’s at 3″ so I could trim them down (I’m making the 9″ blocks).  Whenever I am making HST’s and I see 7/8″ or 5/8″ measurements for the squares needed, I always round those up so I can trim down.

I’ve really been enjoying using Cozy Up fabrics for my blocks.  So many times when I am working on samples for a brand new fabric line, I need to make the projects so quickly.  Having a project like Block Heads, that lasts for several months really allows me to enjoy the fabrics.  I hope you are also savoring this sew along!
